Celtic Diary Tuesday March 31: Celts Planning Ahead ?

The silly season has come early, or is Ronny Deila doing the unthinkable for a Celtic manager and planning ahead ?

After yesterdays revelation in the Record that Liam Henderson could be heading out on a three month loan-a story dismissed by Etims so you know its probably true-theres warnings of incoming….

Danny Wilson, a product of the famed Murray Park conveyer belt of talent, who went to Liverpool before joining Hearts, has been mentioned as a summer signing. £500,000 the price, as he only has a year left on his contract.

Could Wilson and another Liverpool flop Tiago Illora be our centre half partnership for next season, or merely understudies to Efe Ambrose and Charlie Mulgrew ?

Thats if the current duo of van dijk and Denaayer do , as expected,  move on.

Well, thats got the heart racing.

Or, of course, it could just be bollocks. Ilora will end up at Real Sociedad, Liverpool, bizarrely want to recoup their £7m they spent on him.

Danny Wilson will bring out a sequel to his hit single “Mary’s Prayer ”

In the case of Henderson, we hear he is frustrated at not getting too many starts, and with slipping down the pecking order behind Bitton, Armstrong and Mackay Steven, and on the bright side, a summer of football would give us a match fit midfielder for the champions League qualifiers.

Maybe it’s not such a bad idea…

Where the other two are concerned, i think it’s fair to say we were hoping for a little more proven quality and experience.

Another name thrown into the hat is Alireza Jahanbakhsh, which would raise a fortune if he turned out to be any good, mainly from shirt sales with his name on the back.

He’s been “impressing ” with his performances on the wing for NEC Nijmegan in the Dutch Second division, and could be set to fill the diddy winger role, which looks set to be vacant when Wakaso, Tonev and Boerrigter have their club cars taken off them.

Another who probably won’t be sen at Celtic Park again is finished Finnish finisher Teemu Pukki, who told reporters;

“My dream is to play in Spain again. Hopefully, I will find a good club and be there for many years, but Brondby is also fine for me. We’ll see what happens.”

 I have not thought of Celtic since I came, I focus only on Brondby. When the time comes I will make a decision but it is not yet.

“You never know what’s going to happen in football. Even if you have a contract you can be sold. I’m not the type who gets stressed about something. I just live life and I do not think about what will happen.”

He’s not thought of Celtic ? Well, theres a coincidence….

Tomas Rogic, the Australian midfielder who came over as a project has recovered from injury, and made an appearance in a development side win over Motherwell last night.

This report is from Fox News Australia, and yes, it is Rogic they are talking about.

AFTER a long year battling injury, Tom Rogic has returned to action with Celtic’s Development Squad.

The talented Socceroos playmaker, who didn’t feature in the World Cup or Asian Cup squads due to a series of injuries, started for the Bhoys’ side in their 2-0 win over Motherwell this morning EDT alongside Dutch winger Derk Boerrigter, another long-term absentee.

The former Mariners and Victory starlet, 22, played the opening 45 minutes and as he tries to re-establish his career abroad, he showed some glimpses of the deft touch that created so much optimism when he burst onto the A-League stage.

First-half goals to Jamie Lindsay and Jaison McGrath got the job done for the side.

It has been slim picking for the attacking midfielder since signing for the Scottish club in January 2013.

He last played for the first side in a 3-0 loss to AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League group phase on November 26, 2013, before his move to Melbourne in January 2014.

That loan stint in the A-League was supposed to build up his fitness towards peaking for the World Cup in Brazil, but in the end, injury got the better of him.

A return to full fitness would be a huge boost for the Socceroos stocks, with the addition of another creative outlet to add to Ange Postecoglou’s attacking stable.

The official Socceroos site couldn’t contain their joy, either;

In news that will encourage Socceroos fans, talented attacking midfielder Tom Rogic is back on the park, playing for Celtic’s Development squad on Tuesday (AEDT ….

….Rogic, who has another two years to run on his Celtic contract, has managed just 15 appearances for the Bhoys over the last two years.

If the former Nike Chance winner can get a few games under his belt between now and the end of the season it could see him back in the frame for June’s start of the 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign.

Socceroos boss Ange Postecoglou is a big fan of Rogic’s talent and his creativity would add yet another dimension to Australia’s attacking game.

They seem to rate him, and although the jump from Australian football to top level is considerable, especially in terms of fitness, we should hang on to him for twelve months, and see what Ronny can do with him.

He’s good with youngsters.

We’re also unlikely to keep John guidetti, who is set to make a fortune from a new character in a popular childrens  book series being based on him. Kids everywhere will be able to follow the adventures of Mr. Sitter.

All of this , however, means that the Deila influence is growing. Maybe this year we won’t be scrambling around on deadline day hoping to sign some non entity who can’t find another club.

That would be nice.  Planning ahead for a change.

Someone else planning ahead are the new club over at Ibrox, who have just released their interim accounts.

No surprises, no change. but there was one admission that caught the eye;

Fancy that. It is a new club after all!

Maybe someone at Magners should take heed;

A poster on TSFM finally received a reply to his query to the SFA,  which concerned the relegation of Rangers to the third division, a myth popularised by the mainstream media

It took a while, but it’s all coming out now, which might afect any new share issue by the new board at Ibrox. Well, that and not having a Nominated Advisor, or NOMAD.

Presumably, they’re all No’ Mad

It appears from the accounts that if they get promoted they will have to pay £500,000 to Newcastle united for the use of the five loannees, so thats at least some good news, as that money is fairly safe.

And the future of the club is safe as well, if you believe Paul Murray, the current man at the helm;

“The mismanagement of the club in recent years has been simply staggering.

“We all knew the club would be in need of major restructuring and repair on all fronts.

“We can and we will return this club to a strong and profitable footing through strategic planning, investment and re-engagement with all of our stakeholders.

“Too many of them have been lost or disenfranchised because of successive failings by a series of directors over the last four years in particular.

“But they are gone now and this is a new era for this great and special club, which must be regenerated.”

Last four years ? He should see what the previous lot did.

Oh, wait….

Charles Coridon made one appearance for Celtic , captured forever in yesterdays picture.

 Whats significant about this snap  ?

A new kids book about a certain Guidetti called Mr Sitter…. Are you sure that’s spelled correctly?

What is significant about that photo it proves beyond any shadow of doubt Roy Keane is in actual fact a time traveller.
And not a modern day traveller as the accent and Beard may have suggested in recent months.

Having spoke with Ronnie Deila last night I think you underestimate his abilities as our Celtic manager. He is very switched on and knows exactly what is good for Celtic and our players

Having listened to him since day one and never met the guy I know Denise.
His finger has been on the pulse since the moment he landed.
Just took a few players and fans a bit to catch up on his way of thinking.

Is it the last time that number 10 played whilst in a huge baby bouncing contraption that you normally see stuck in doorway with a baby bouncing up and down ?

He got £250 from You’ve Been Framed for that and retired as it was a lot of money back then.

Is it something do with the last time Celtic’s home strip wasn’t hoops ?

First game played with shin guards compulsory or last game before the far end was covered or most likely neither.

Thanks for clearing up the little matter of demotion or lack of it.
Still begs an explanation of how promotion/inclusion in the 4th tier was achieved/accepted without record of accounts, no affiliation and also ahead of several other worthy long-waiting candidates

It’s a picture of the smallest referee ever to officiate at a Scottish football match and in severe danger of disappearing up Bobby Lennox’s arse.

I just read this mince spoken by sevco’s Paul Murray in the Daily Bigot:-

“He goes on to outline the new board’s “2022 Vision”, which aims to take Rangers “back to the top” within seven years – in time for the club’s 150th anniversary celebrations.”

Why does the Daily Bigot’s journalist not correct Murray when he says “150th anniversary celebrations”? Why does the Daily Bigot continue to defy reality and the facts by propagating this myth that Glasgow Rangers still exists? I thought “freedom of the press” meant unhindered reporting of the truth, not “freedom to print whatever fits in with what we would like reality to be”.
This is the same rag that, when covering other stories, will not hesitate to expose and criticize coverups and corruption in business and government…..but then again, maybe they suppress a lot of stuff that they know about because, like in their handling of info about their beloved sevco, it doesn’t fit their agenda.
One thing Murray got right though..it’ll take the tribute act about 150 years to get anywhere near us!! Hail, hail.
