Celtic Diary Thursday December 25; So This Is Christmas….

Thats everybody away to their beds.

First bit of peace and quiet all day.

This morning it was a bank with no cashiers, then a department store that made up its prices as it went along, and finally i got to see a guy arguing with the man behind the bar in the co-op as to why the post office should be open on christmas Day.

Finally, the worn out shopman told him it was open between ten and two.

I hope the daft bastard turns up with whatever was so important it couldn’t wait until the weekend. In fact, i might grab a couple of cans and go and wait outside the place for him to turn up. Remember, the average man is stupid, so at least half of those you meet will be even dumber than that.

Anyway, I digress.

I meant to throw together the usual nonsense this morning, but I got caught up in the nonsense that surrounds this time of year. and I’m barred from Debenhams, which is where all the people from the Jeremy Kyle show work in the week.

Anyway, its christmas, and as long as Santa makes it over the Ukraine, all the kids should be happy this morning . Hopefully they’ll get what they wanted.  In fact, in town today they did a full scale tribute to that football match back in the trenches in 1914. I got into the spirit of things and stabbed one of the Germans when it was finished.

My Dad used to make a great Santa Claus, turned up one night a year, drank all the beer, ate all the food and fucked off again for twelve months.

Mind you, thats me  done with both my advent calenders. The UKIP one, where theres a foreigner behind all the doors and you get to close it on them every day until they’re all locked out,  and the Katie Price one, where all the flaps are always open.

Oh wait, theres the phone going.

Its the wife, She says she wants me to pick her up from the town, she doesn’t trust the taxi drivers and they take the piss with the prices this time of year.

If I give it a minute she’ll go back to sleep. She hasn’t been out, and has spent the evening with comrade vodka.  Which she intends to do for a couple of days, thus restoring the Russian economy back to its former status.

I got a Miranda Hart DVD from her this year, which will save me the bother of opening it. she went nuts though, I told her I loved it, and she called me a fucking liar and stormed off into the kitchen.

I almost got lucky with the present for the youngest-I found one I’d wrapped last year and forgotten about it. Would have got away with it as well if it hadn’t been a puppy.

Anyway, I’m having a refreshment now its quiet, and I’m raising the glass to all of you who have put up with this shite all year, and heres hoping you have a great Christmas, from all of us here at Etims, and you get to spend it with who you want in the way that you want to,

After all, thats what its all about.

And come on the hoops !

Sounds like you enjoying the spirit Ralph. Merry Christmas! Thanks for taking the time to do the page every day and for giving us something to think/discuss/argue about. Cheers!!

Taxi drivers don’t take the piss with prices. Double time is down to the operators and local authorities. As far as most drivers are concerned the price hike is nothing other than an unashamed tip grab by the bosses.

Thanks Ralph for bringing a bit of sunshine into my life every day.
Merry Xmas to all fellow tims out there.
And at this time of year, in the spirit of goodwill and concilliation, we really should be feeling just a little bit sorry for the sevco fans, who just seem to be getting hammered at every turn. However, I’m enjoying every last minute of their suffering – death by a thousand cuts. Never really understood Karma until the last 3 years.
Jelly & ice cream for dessert today?

Rumour has it that Santa has sent a bill to Sevco for using one of his sacks to hold their AGM in.

Merry Christmas to you all here’s hoping for a very prosperous New Year and a few late Presents in the January Sales from Peter and the Board 😉
Ronny possibly looking at altering things so proving that he’s flexible with the approach which cannot be a bad thing.
Here’s hoping whatever happens we do it with a bit more class in the second half of the Season.
I would like to see another CB in a LB to push Izzy for a start and a quality DM with a bit of pace.
I read also we might have an Interest in Darren Randolph?
Zaluska must be for the exit if this is the case and I think Randolph would be great backup.

Merry Christmas Ralph – not sure u fully appreciate just how many of us wait eagerly each day for the diary to appear. It genuinely is now as much a part of my day as shaving or having the breakfast. Christmas is as good a time as any to say thanks so eh…. Thanks! I’m sure the pay’s not great (!) which makes it even more impressive that it gets churned out each day

Happy Christmas to you all and Hail Hail!!

Hi all hope you have enjoyed the festive faire.
For the first time in many a year me and mine attended midnight mass, it was at a High Anglican church that dates back to 1086 and is actually mentioned in the doomsday book. The choir was very nice but all the ceremony was conducted by women! a wee bit strange in my opinion but I suppose termed as forward thinking.
I cannot help but think that organised religion has completely lost the plot when it comes to faith and religious freedom, Catholics, Protestants, Baptists and Methodists and even Jehovah’s witnesses!
All of them insist that their organisation takes precedence over scripture and their adherence to church philosophy, all of this takes priority over scriptural truth.
Xmas has no place what so ever in Christian reality and is deeply steeped in paganism.
Even in the High Church it mentions the Nicene Creed and the Apostolic catholic faith, this was the introduction of the man made theory of the trinity which has no basis what so ever in scriptural truth and yet all Christendom is based on this false precept, although Jehovah’s witnesses do not adhere to this false teaching, and before any of you mention blind faith you would do well to remember the definition of faith at Hebrews 11.1.
Anyway it was a pleasant experience but one completely steeped in paganism and nothing to do with the word of truth.
God bless and good fortune to all.

Interesting, so what’s your views on 4 4 2 , or maybe Charlie Saiz and my own preference of 3 5 2 or Ronny’s 4 2 3 1 ???

Lol the Book of Ambrose states:
He who hath precided over formations and such teachings is wasteth his breath for I Efe 4 the 4th son of Cluster shall rightly fuck it up. Amen

From the Late Latin name Ambrosius, which was derived from the Greek name Αμβροσιος (Ambrosios) meaning “immortal”. Saint Ambrose was a 4th-century theologian, footballer and bishop of Milan, who is considered a Doctor of the Church.
But it was his inability to kick a ball straight and his alarming ability to fuck up the simplest of tasks that had the 4th-century Milanese reaching for the valium.

Interesting read Tourtenay and an Interesting take on the Paganistic Festival of Christmas.
I don’t do Churches any more myself in fact I no longer adhere or partake in any Organised Religious gatherings myself.
Not be because I don’t believe in God or Christ our Saviour you see but rather these Books they all read from were written by men in the Interests of men.
I get the message and I appreciate the work that has gone into them but ultimately these are not “gods words”.
I celebrate Christmas because I believe it is right we acknowledge for at least one day of the Year that Jesus gave his life for us.
The fact they chose a Pagan date to celebrate the Birth of Christ is of no real consequence in the big scheme of things I don’t think.

So long as we enjoy it when we do I think is the real spirit of Christmas.

God Bless.

Well done on the constant magnificence of the Etims diary.

It is very much appreciated. It must be tough having to produce a constant output, particularly when things are shite, so big credit and thanks for making the effort.

Mind you, it’s not as funny as crazy bill mcmurdos blog. He still thinks it reasonable to call rangers ‘the queens 11’.

Merry Christmas gents. Frank McGarveys still a Tim.
