Celtic Diary Wednesday January 27: I’m A Footballer Get Me Out Of Here

Jeremie Frimpong, the right back with a smile on his face, is set to further his career and development away from Celtic Park with a £11m move. I can’t remember who to, but thats because it doesn’t matter. He becomes the second defender to secure an escape route from his career stalling after Jack Hendry, ( remember him ?) , decided he didn’t want to come back.

It’s interesting to note that the defence, which currently suffers from a lack of defenders, has lost two more….which points to a lack of planning, although no doubt there’s an Israeli agent somewhere waiting by his phone, holding a list of right backs available for a six month loan, as six months is the best you can hope for before they get injured.

Frimpong has suffered from a lack of confidence of late, but then being kicked up and down the park with little protection from referees, and even less outrage from his manager and club, tend to have that effect on a mans self esteem, and one wonders of the managers way of dealing with it was merely to tell him to “man up “, or “grow a pair “.

Which, of course, isn’t management, its just shouting, and can even be interpreted as bullying….

Frimpong, it seems, says the club hasn’t met his demands….

Image

That was an instagram post, and look who “liked ” it…..

Image

Two more youngsters who want away.

It would be wrong to speculate on those demands, and if they were met, not met or even made.

But too many bits of tittle tattle are all pointing in the same direction.

Frimpong and Hendry will likely be joined by other players on their way out of the jungle, and the money will be welcomed. At least the board have a ready made excuse for not spending it this time, with the pandemic reaching grim new heights….

Ryan Christie is shooting for a place in an English side, though if his shooting on the pitch is anything to go by, he’ll still be here when the transfer window shuts. Leeds United is the rumoured destination.

Oddsone Edoaurd is apparently on the shopping list of West Ham and Aston Villa, though Neil Lennon has denied any interest.

Like Peter would tell him…..

Stan Laurel Oliver Hardy laughing on Make a GIF

As it stands, Frank Lampard has joined the list of next Celtic managers, alongside Rafael Benitez and Eddie Howe. With Celtic saying and likely doing nothing about the slide into mediocrity, which can be blamed entirely on the current management, it’s looking more and more like Lennon has photos of Lawwel in the bath with Desmond, and the only people making anything out of the gossip are the bookies.

The papers, and no doubt Sky TV, would love to see Frank Lampard renew his rivalry with Steven Gerrard, whilst Celtic fans would surely see this as another example of our club being dragged down to their level, and an enforcement of the Old Firm brand that seems to be more important than integrity or honesty to those running Celtic.

Appointing Lampard would not be a decision made with any thought to player development or club ambition, and it would be complete folly for the board to even consider it.

Which means he’ll be here on Monday, with Sky TV paying half his wages.

Thats the problem. Celtic buy low, develop, and sell high. Or at least, thats the theory.

Young players are pitched first class training, sports science and a chance to play in the champions League, cup finals and to win medals.

If they are successful, and develop accordingly, learning their trade, improving their fitness, discipline and concentration, they are sold for huge sums of money.

They earn contracts worth millions.

Thats what used to happen.

We won’t be able to attract promising youngsters as long as Lennon stays in charge.

We could well be stuck with loannees and players with poor fitness and injury records.

Players who can’t get a game for their club.

Thats the path we’re on, and someone needs to take the wheel and change direction, and it needs to be soon.

Celtic face Hamilton tonight, if you are interested, and it looks like the game is all but irrelevant.

Unless Neil Lennon gets rat arsed and runs naked around the pitch singing the Broad Black Brimmer he’ll still be in a job tomorrow.

And thats the problem.

On a sad note, two great names from Celtic’s history passed away this week.

Johannes Edvaldsson dead at 70 as former Celtic and Motherwell hero passes away - Daily Record

Johannes Edvaldsson, the man who replaced Billy McNeill on the field when he retired, was 70.

Part of the ten men who won the league, the big Icelander was the mainstay of a defence that had been led by McNeill for over a decade, and he filled those boots as well as anyone could.

In fact, one could argue that had McNeill not retired, and stayed on as his mentor, we could have had a real top class defender in our ranks.

Dr Jozef Venglos , one of Europes top coaches and Celtic manager also passed away, aged 84.

Ex-Celtic boss Dr Jozef Venglos dead aged 84 as Hoops pay tribute to him

He’ll be remembered for signing Johann Mjallby and Lubomir Moravcik, a 5-1 thrashing of Rangers, and making Hugh Keevins look like a knob.

The latter, for me, was a major benchmark in how supporters came to realise, in the days before sites like this one, just how ignorant, lazy, and downright hostile the mainstream sports media was, and still is, in Scotland…

Hugh wrote, in the Sunday Mail, re Moravcik, who had 76 Czechoslovakian caps at the time…

“I don’t know what I find more laughable – the fact that Celtic cannot find £500,000 from their biscuit tin to sign a proven talent like John Spencer, or the fact that they then spent £300,000 on one of Dr Jo’s old pals, the unknown Lubomir Moravcik.”

In fact, I have it on good authority Moravcik cost half of that. The price was inflated to try to avoid media ridicule…..

Thank you, Dr Jo, as with Moravcik, it’s a shame we didn’t have you earlier or for longer….

so the caption winner still pushing the Lawwell ” spin ” aka “guff ” re -BR exit ;

and some wonder how Celtic have come to be where they languish now with PL and Lennon STILL reigning over the chaos !

Sad indeed to lose Shuggy a huge cult figure with us.
Dr Joe of course was put in charge 5 days before our champions league game, with no proper chance to get to know the players.
But what a player he gave us in Lubo. He also signed Viduka.
He brought over not just his knowledge of football but changed how we trained used sports science and got the players to work on their well being more. He had a huge network of scouts to call on, he deserved more from than the limited time he got.
The media have been anti Celtic all their days they are still at it.
Fuck them all.
Celtic First Celtic last Celtic overall.
Too many of our talent now have left or want away it says all you need to know about whats happening on the training ground.

Agree Rich, it’s a real shame we didn’t have Jo Vengles for longer. He also improved Larsson and a few others whilst he was with us.

We all know we need a root and branch review and change. Is it happening? none of us know!

The current model has failed significantly and those that are interested in pounds and pence along with football must be sitting up and taking notice.

As a support we will always be there, but there must be change. For 10 years we’ve had little competition and should have been building for Europe and that should always have been our goal and the one that our executives were ‘goaled’ on. The plan B should have been the Europa League Group stages not selling a major asset to balance the books.

Yes, we need to sell players. That’s sadly part of the DNA of any football club. But sell players from a position of strength not weakness. Plan ahead. I can’t believe that our board act if they still think the year starts in July or August – it starts in January and is part of what should be an ongoing 3 year plan! Our season starts July, our pre-season June. So we need a settled team at the start of that, give or take a player. Okay you may not get every player you want – we don’t anyway! But a settled fit well coached and well paid squad should be the basic requirement.

Leicester and Rodgers saw that when he left in February rather than wait till June. He wanted to work under a regime that understood that! Leicester wouldn’t wait and neither would he! We all believed the line he bailed, he jumped ship. But the truth is deeper than that and through time it has come out. Our operational football department isn’t what we thought it was! It’s even worse than that!

I didn’t believe the hype regarding Brendan, and said so at the time. The signs were crystal clear, that he was at odds with Lawwell, and that it was only a matter of time – and the right offer – before he left. I didn’t renew last season, for the first time in years, and won’t be doing so again til the miscreants masquerading as board, management

Firstly RIP Big Shuggy and Dr Jo Venglos.

Regarding Frimpong, although I don’t like to see young players leave we seem to have received an extraordinary bid for a player who has pace but…………he’s never a defender, not strong enough, too easily brushed off the ball, no left foot (but he seems convinced he has judging by the number of times he cuts inside and the ball ends up in the Celtic end) shocking final ball (time after time and doesn’t seem to be learning) poor decision making……….

Time will tell but I would have driven him to the airport

I agree Andy, I still recall the Celtic support saying £7 million was a great deal for Armstrong and look how he’s strolling the Premiership at present, yet they seem to be disappointed at getting £11 million for a speed merchant that can’t deliver a decent cross. Strange times.

I really liked Frimpong, so fresh and potentially good. I contacted a mate of mine got solace and he said ‘good price for someone who runs very fast find but doesn’t fo much else!’ Opinions eh!
It feels like the club is stalled, decisions to be taken or have been taken but we are not being told. I suppose Pep and Ole are under contract, I wonder how they will get on in a dual role, didn’t do Ross County any hood.

Good read again.
Frimpong leaving has hit me a wee bit harder than I thought it would. Firstly; it came out of the blue as in my head he was the sort of player we should be building the side around and looking to really develop under the new management regime.
And secondly; it would appear to confirm all the worst suspicions about the standards at the club and the level of coaching being provided. The fact that a young man with no first team experience came to Celtic; saw action for 16 months and made the decision that if his career was to flourish be needed to move to a country that really invests in young players is utterly alarming and thoroughly depressing.
With the two boys heading off to Bayern Munich and the young guy poached by Man City with a major exodus on the cards by the majority of the reserve squad we appear to have lost an entire generation of young players from our youth development teams.
Really worrying!

Can’t fault the youngsters for wanting to leave DGC, as they’ve no hope of flourishing under Lennon. The odd sit on the bench without actually getting a kick is no use to anyone with ambition. I wish them all well wherever they end up.

RIP to big Shuggie and Dr Jo.

As for Frimpong. It sums it up really. A young fresh talent, a breath of fresh air when he arrived no less…and now…worn down and lacking in confidence in himself, his team-mates and his manager.

With no Forrest on the pitch, suddently we expected Frimpong to be superman…with no decent right back cover from defence or midfield…totally left out there stranded and no wonder his form fell away.

We have millions of people on the left side yet only Forrest in the right forward area.
Forcing Christie into a right wing role was awful management and while we still await Jamesy ( we wont see him again this season will we?, at the back now the talk is of a cheap O’Donnell, at least 2 years after we could easily have signed him.

At Least that might mean we have an actual fit and able ( if limited) SPFL right back for once as sadly El Hamed is another in the long line of players who get better when they dont play and should be chasedin the summer.

The squad has been neglected and do has the development of talent. I see Karomoko away next and thats yet another Islam Feruz then…we really are good at such disappointments.

BTW..something sad to read…

In April 2020, it was reported that Feruz had given up football to set up a company selling designer caps

His failure was nothing to do with Celtic. He wanted the money and the lifestyle and he got them and spent more times in nightclubs than in training and eventually no club would take him. Leaving Celtic doesn’t guarantee failure on this scale. It depends on your intention. Frimpong may well make a sucess of things. Personally I think he was overrated – never a right back and a very fast but limited winger – no left foot and no final ball. He’ll hopefully benefit from better coaching elsewhere. I think his exit statement was a thinly veiled dig at Celtic – no real ambition in Europe and no real technical football on offer. He may overrate his own ability but he is likely to be one we’ll return to as an example of how not to manage young talent. We really do need a new coaching set up asap.

I have nothing but absolute contempt for Lennon now, his stubbornness, his ego, his lack of professionalism, his lack of self awareness , his lack of discipline have cost us the 10, but that’s naw all hes cost Celtic, millions in lost European revenue, trashed our reputation as a top level professional club, completely failed to develop any player under his management this time around, has absolutely no ability to develop any kind of player, and thus trashing Celtic’s reputation as a club that richer clubs can trust to loan some great young talent to anymore. Lennons legacy is forever tarnished, his first league title was against a hun team who had been deducted 15 points for administration, his 2nd when the huns had died, fast forward several years, his 3rd was after Rodgers had completed 65% of the league and left him with an 8 point cushion, his 4th was given to him after Covid halted all football in March, so basically, the first full season Lennons been manager and there’s been a team playing oot of the Bigotdome that has got their act together, and Lennon completely fails in every single department, overseeing possibly the worst league defence in Celtic history, worse than anything even in the 90s…That will be his legacy….LENNON OUT NOW…

New Shuggy what a character, big brisk Icelander. Doctor Joe slagged off by the media but gave us some of our best moments with Lubo.

As for the current Celtic, after yesterday’s press conference by the learned one we are now entering ‘ The Twilight Zone’ he is responsible for nothing, everyone else is wrong as he stares at the journos with a glaikit expression.

‘Bargains’ this is a new word when sourcing footballers, probably Lenny has Been down at Poundstretchers with Pedro. How the Orcs and Slippy must be loving this car crash in the making. They obviously be
They obviously believe masses are there to pay their monies and grasp at a few crumbs, be ridiculed at every level and come back for more.

The worrying aspect of this is Frimpong and his comment, also other players showing that they are hacked off, no wonder the performances are poor. When Ping Ping stated he wanted to leave he should not have been played, but Lenny knows about motivation, not.

Normal company – poor performance, lost revenue, young talent leaving in droves, losing deals and potential for success = board review, sackings and changes to fix finances and build a long term strategy of success
The Hoops – poor performance, lost revenue, young talent leaving in droves, consistently losing and underperforming = promise a review then deliver a total radio silence on it, keep the current bosses at the helm, buy short term staff, offer bemusement to the fans anger and take the highest paid staff abroad during a global pandemic whilst furloughing the keen and eager under-18’s

I know we all have our own opinions but with the ongoing madness that seems to be ignoring the problems and not planning for next season or reviewing when you say you’re going to….then….

Money Talks. Dirty cash is what they want, like any business. Delaying renewing or buying a season ticket or club subscription will if nothing else, have Desmond finally bricking it and speeding up that audit of his. We know what needs to happen (or if not, I’ll offer my tuppence worth!):

New CEO – offer Peter a painting of a spitfire, fist bump and a pension
New manager – sack Neil (he won’t quit without getting his payoff and that’s fine but just give him it and move things on). He’ll be welcome back in future but right now, we’re in a crisis. Raganick or someone who really thinks about long term, tactics, training, planning
Sports contact with superb planning skills – start the beginnings of a global network, making contacts across continents to keep an eye on emerging talent. A good example is the financial crisis at places like Barcelona. They can’t afford the big bucks anymore with more than £1bn debt. So let’s talk to them about swapping youth talent back and forth. They get cheap players who are hungry, we get good players who need game time
Focus early youth and mid-youth training on ball control, skillz, not simply winning games. The winning will happen from that. So a very good youth coach set up
Management structure – either coach and director of football or a manager who works closely with head of commercial to run things
Feeding from the youth into the reserves and first team – this has to happen and we have to be confident and not worry about the odd loss if long term, it gives us future stars
Fitness – Deila was right. We need discipline on the fitness side (he says, in front of a laptop)

Right, rant over but some of it makes sense. HH

And we are worried? A Permanent Embarrassment And An Occassional Disgrace.
The pubic purse has still not received one penny of the £72. million owed to the taxman and neither has the 6000 blue seated debenture seats been handed back to those rectums that shat on them.
They cost £7.7 million for a lifetime usage, that must have hurt. The malicious prosecution of the Duff and Phelps pair Whitehouse and Clark cost the taxpayer another £21.00 million, plus another £3.00 million in costs. Still never received one penny of the Wee Tax Case since charges were brought by the taxman on the 26th. November 2010, that small sum being another £2,238,000 and Celtic lost out on the CL Qualifiers. Then you must add the £49.00 Million pounds of EBTs into the toxicity of Hun-co. That’s a lotta money. Sometimes its good to remind ourselves that at least we are not Huns.
Since 2012 they are still at it, so who is responsible for allowing that? as they remain in the upward spiral of debt. King can say what he wants, but its his club Toxicity FC that remains firmly embedded with debt, Celtic at least remain the same club, with its history still intact. We may be shite at bringing managers and players, but at least we are honest shite, well except Lawwell and the board.
Meanwhile the SFA including Petrie, the SPFL including Doncaster still remain silent…

Peter Lawwell, Eric Riley, Ian Bankier, ‘Lord’ Livingston & Dermot Desmond.

They allowed it.

So it logically follows that in allowing both the old & the new Huns to die & then flourish that these men themselves are Huns of the lowest order.

11.5 mill seems very good business for wee Frimpong on current form. It’s sad in a way though as we thought we had a real superstar in the making when he burst onto the scene over a year ago. Although we’re all fully aware of his shortcomings, his ability to suddenly up his pace spectacularly, his close control and those magical moments when he tormented defenders who simply didn’t know how to deal with him, are attributes that will remain in our memories for a long time. I wish him well. His urge to split is yet further evidence (as if we needed any more) that there is something putrid and festering within the running of the club. For our garden to bloom and flourish again any time soon, a lot of serious weeding out from top to bottom has to be carried out.
Re tonight’s trials and tribulations as we take on the Accies, I don’t want to see Barkas, Bitton or Duffy anywhere near the starting line up. I’d go with Hazard in goal, Raston (who played quite well last time he was selected) at RB, Ajer and Welsh for the CBs and Taylor at LB. Broonie is obviously ruled out for stupidity while Christie and Rogic have been dreadful in the last couple of games. No idea if Eddie will be approaching anything like match fitness (this is all such a mess) while the only two players.who seem to be showing any kind of fighting spirit and cojones lately are Soro and Ajer. Just hope others will take their lead this evening as this game is no dead rubber. We are under pressure to get some kind of decent run going that will help us to secure second place and another crack at the CL so it’s vital to somehow get that vital first win of the year (hard to believe it’s come to this). The pressure is on as yet another kak performance could be the last straw.

Bit harsh there man. Lennon’s role under MON was certainly an unglamorous one but he did it well throughout the 5 years MON was in charge. He was a mainstay of the Seville team and that’s enough for me. By the same token this sentimentality has seen him appointed manager twice for no other reason than “He’s Neil Lennon”.

Unfortunately (and heartbreakingly) his legacy has been tarnished forever by being a huge part of this nuclear disaster of a season.

Presumably you mean the voices in your head.

Also, that’s a favourite trope of right-wingers, when they have no or little support for their arguments, which is very surprising considering what a big socialist you are (why are people sniggering?).

99% of comments from Celtic fans (Season Ticket Holders and others who have managed to find their way to Celtic Park in the past 30 years) have wanted him gone for months when the season was still saveable.

The only ‘divine right’ I see is of a clearly unfit manager being kept in post no matter how wretched he performs.

Frank McGaaaarvey

Guys like me? Who actively support the team and don’t refer to hunnisms when someone disagrees with them?
So you were jumping for joy when Lawell went down the cheap route and appointed a total rookie to replace the disaster that was Tony Mowbray?

Did you watch the weekly turgid fare that was served up during his first tenure? Sure, he delivered a couple league titles (but against what opposition is your frequently used argument against Rodgers) but had an unbelievably appalling cup record. Is it any better this time around? Think we know the answer to that one Charlie/ Duncan / Cyan / whoever. An appointment made by Lawell of biblical disaster proportions of which we are reaping the dividends now.

So, ‘guys like me’ who only want what’s best for the club and for our supposed custodians to act in a professional outward-facing way is a bad thing is it?

And, might I remind you that despite my misgivings on his appointments, I have been right behind him (as I have all Celtic managers) but FFS when will you see that enough is enough? Celtic managers have Bern binned for far less than the atrocities this season so why is Lenny exempt from standard treatment?

Frank McGaaaarvey

I wish him nothing but goodwill and have no wish to resort to personal abuse but have to admit that is evaporating every further day he is still around. Apart from the fact he is a ‘Celtic man’ what qualified him for the job? Even bigger legends than him like Cesar and TB were sacked with no sentimentality.

If you are content to write this disaster off as simply ‘just a bad season’ then you are far more deluded than any other fan you refer to. The slip in standards over the last 18 months is horrifying and asking for consistency, professionalism and modern thinking from our football club is anything but entitled.

Frank McGaaaarvey

I can’t believe for a second that there would be a lack of interest in the Celtic managers position. I would have taken Mick McCarthy in a second over what we have now. Doing nothing is never an option.

You’re absolutely right about modern footballers, the majority of whom would shit themselves if a Stein or a Cloughy raised their voices to them. By the same token the old school of footballers would never adapt to today’s game with fitness, diet and abstinence being the norm. Swings and roundabouts.

I had posters of Shuggy, Joe Craig, Andy Lynch, Dalglish, & the immortal Danny McGrain on my wall as a boy but was always a bit baffled by Shuggie’s decision to take over the notoriously Hun Mermaid Bar at Brigton Cross while he was still playing for Celtic.

Still am, come to think of it, though I’ve a fair idea why he got away with it, given the Nordics’ immersion in Scotland’s favourite secret society …

Just wondered why Andy Walker wasn’t so publicly vocal when original rangers were cheating their way to titles & stolen prize money?
So just to be clear, he demanded an apology from Celtic for going to Dubai ( fair enough ) but will sing the praises of cheats & thieves, whilst not demanding these trophies or prize money be paid back?

What’s all this ‘Awaiting For Approval’ nonsense, Richie?

It’s not even proper English, it’s either ‘Awaiting Approval’ or ‘Waiting For Approval.

What is the point of a blog that we can’t even post on or our posts turn up three days later?

What is the point?

So this years fine young prospects are pishing off, often after busting to play and make their presence felt while Lenny picks the old guard who just do not want to be here, his words, and have had enough. Hmm. Meanwhile back at the ranch, sevco, between the giggles, are already planning for next season, including Europe. Apart from Lawwell, any changes must be made soon or we are going to be left behind again. Rumours of coaches and players are not doing it and bringing in a couple of expensive signings, loan or permanent, means they will no be settled for next seasons eurp flops. Barkas is a librarian and an idiot and Duffy, biggest disappointment for years. Is there any sign of a brain in our board and coaching staff? They are no better than a pub team but are losing us hundreds of millions and costing us millions. HH!

Astonished that you’ve left McClair and Harry Harry in, as you usually discard Celtic heroes, as they have no further relevance to your “I’m the f*cking number 1” hero worship.

Lets we forget, your contribution to obliterating the memories of Celtic greats:

117 Bobby Colllins
113 Johnny Campbell
110 John Hartson
109 Frank McGarvey
109 Neil Mochan
103 Joe Cassidy(1912)
102 Bobby Murdoch
100 Alec Thomson
100 John Divers(1959)

I’m not sure how many of those spent 5 seasons (and counting) fannying about, unfit and generally being a disgrace as a professional footballer.

Sorry Ralph, haven’t read your Diary yet, nor the comments.
If I cross your paths I’ll forgive me, and you!
Jeremy’s been flogged for profit, and we’re reportedly ‘chasing’ a PNE
‘defender’…a pre-contract, undubitably free for the Summer.
And we need good players now?
One’s blood is boiling, Lawwell and Lennon (Lennon now a grovelling mouthpiece for Lawwell)!
Enough I say, and I’ll fuxxing back it up, as I’ve always done.
Get Lawwell, Lennon, Kennedy and Strachan Tae Fukk, NOW.
I’ll promote myself to be CEO and a New Board member.
Seriously, this is CRITICAL and PTL is front and central.
‘Relieving’ NFL of his duties is paramount too!
We’ve had enough, except that apathetic gobshites are even more powerful than Lawwell:
IMHO, doing nothing is acceptance and ‘proves’ Lawwell’s theory: “their emotional attachment makes it EASY to ‘milk’ them”. Who’d a thunk it?
Hail! Hail! The Celts are here………….not a tory amongst them

“Join the discussion” I read on here, but THAT is impossible due to a “new” piece of shite site.
My 1st attempt at commenting went straight to the infuriating, inane, hun-mentality pish of “Awaiting for approval”.
Patience was never my top attribute. and it’s being tested too much on here.
FFS lads, get it together.

Henke, Morelos came here as a thug and will leave as a proven one. Just a part of consecutive hun, filth signings. Of course I wouldn’t know (precisely)……that, e.g. the the SFA, SPFL and Lanarkshire Referees affilliated masonic scum would favour a DEID club by insinuating a basket of assets on us supporters of Celtic FC with a Titanic lie that Scotland does well too…….Sorry, hard day, head in bits and now trying to obliterate pain with high (%) ABV.
These bastards, from Lawwell via Doncaster and Regan (who now operates some ‘consultancy’ in Leeds), let me say: THE TRUTH WILL OUT, and don’t pretend to be ‘victims’…..it was YOUR creation and hence you should die with The Zombies.

Phil Mac uncovers much, but not everything, and also has an agenda and history (as we all do).
Res 11 (formerly 12) will be promised, kicked down the road into the tall grass and hopefully (for PTL) left there. I cannot go on here, this stuff rips me apart
I found “Downfall” to be informative for the uninitiated, but continual references to websites (as opposed to stating fact) reduced it somewhat
The apathy of our supporters conjoined with scum like Lawwell & Co, and sadly NFL has become one of the &co, we’re in for trouble as a Football Clumpany. Therein LIES that trouble: FC vs PLC.
ONLY our supporters can change this and Supporters for Change should be prepared.
I predict that Lennon and Lawwell, a symbiotec relationship, will still be in situ come April. We’ve (sorry the PLC) accepted some kinda (undisclosed) bid for PingPong. Many on here and other Tim sites dismiss this or call it “good business” as Lawwell’s Ginger Puppet relates. FFS! Soul, sell, disgust, traitor spring to mind…..

The SMSM, including the BBC and ITV, have it IN for Celtic FC and its supporters.
They’d love an internicine war. They may just get their wish……but a wise man said “be careful what you wish for”

I’ve written this piecemeal and expect it may be a difficult read. Amen.

Thought Taylor was better last night, Duffy won most headers but is lost on the deck and is not helped by Bitton doing his slo mo Kaiser impersonation. Great goal and assist by the unfit Griff and a bit better by Eddy. Soro (MoM) and Turnbull did okay but we should have been three up by half time. Calmac not up to where he should be and please no more talk of Ajer as a right back or midfielder. Gets into the positions but doesn’t have the skill or technique to make the most of them. Elyanoussie was on the pitch also. The subs actually detracted from the game which Celts closed out from around 65 minutes. Good and bad but a win and take it.

Reply to  SteveNaive

I feel sorry for Duffy tbh.
One bit of play hes telling Bitton he needs to pick up one of the strikers Bitton does nothing but just stands.
Duffy then has to make a move to cover and has players either side of him. He’s in a no win situation.
The guy made a mess of it thankfully
He’s an old fashioned centre back who needs a proper defensive partner not Bitton or Ajer.
His use of subs is baffling.

Monti

Taylor isn’t a Celtic class player in my opinion.
Too weak, too small & lacks belief.
He also needs to deliver a better final ball, be aggressive at times, drive the ball in low & hard.
