Hatred In The Air.

Scottish football suffered major embarrassment again as the supporters of “rangers 2 once more expressed their hatred of all things and all people Catholic.

Before they even got there, there was a report of passengers terrified by the singing of their old favourite “We hate catholics ” on a flight from Manchester to Lisbon, which kind of dispelled the myth of the ninety minute bigot.

PLANE SHAME

Rangers in Braga: Shock moment Gers fans sing ‘we hate Catholics’ on flight to Portugal ahead of Europa League clash

…..

In footage recorded on the flight, fans can be heard chanting “We hate Catholics, everybody hates Roman Catholics”.

Others cheer and clap along in the 30-second clip as they touch down at the Portuguese airport.

In another shock video they chant the Follow Follow song including  “Dundee, Hamilton… f*** the pope and the Vatican”.

One passenger, who did not want to be named, said she feared for her safety during the flight because she is Catholic.

The terrified English woman, travelling with her boyfriend, said she even hid her crucifix under her T-shirt so the group wouldn’t see it.

She recorded the chants to highlight the hateful lyrics, but was too scared to film those involved.

She told the Scottish Sun Online: “They hit me on my head and kept punching the back of my chair.

“I wanted to stand up to confront them, but my boyfriend told me it wasn’t worth it.

“Then they started singing the anti-Catholic songs. I couldn’t believe it. I went to a Catholic school.

“It was awful. I was so shocked. They were even chanting about the IRA at one point.

“I was genuinely scared. I wear a crucifix around my neck, and had to hide it under my t-shirt.

The woman had first thought the group, all wearing blue tops, were a rowdy stag party until her partner clocked the Rangers badges.

She claims the bad behaviour started “almost straight after take off” with two and a half hours of punching seats, chanting and banging into other passengers.

The furious 24-year-old has now placed an official complaint with Ryanair – claiming airline staff did nothing to keep the rowdy group under control.

And she blasted flight attendants for continuing to serve them booze.

She said: “Ryanair did nothing to make me feel safe. They didn’t seem to care about the impact it could have had on other passengers.

“Before take off they made an announcement saying if there was any bad behaviour they would divert the plane.

“But they did absolutely nothing, apart from continuing to ply them with alcohol the entire flight.

“They spilled drink all over one woman’s dress.

“There’s normally a ‘dad’ type in these groups to tell them to calm down, but not this time. 50-year-old men chanting like they were 18.

“I thought there would be a marshall or something on the plane since police watched us all before boarding but there was nothing.”

( The Sun )

Shock ?

The flight was from Manchester, and their behaviour there no doubt was a crucial factor in the local police deciding to just get them on the plane and out of town.

And when they got to the other end, a catholic town in a catholic city, on a catholic holy day, they continued their abhorrent behaviour.

During the game, which “rangers ” won 1-0, reaching the last 16 of a European tournament for the first time in the new club/company’s short history, the chants continued, condoned by the tv company BT Sports, which was broadcasting the bile live into peoples homes all over the country.

The Scottish Football Association will, of course, remain silent, as they do when these chants are heard on a week to week basis wherever they follow follow their club throughout Scotland.

And “rangers ” ?

Maybe a token message about the clubs good name, but they need the bigot pound, and so therefore they’ll have their fingers crossed while they type this particular statement.

The Ibrox club are clearly not interested in curbing this sort of behaviour, and there’s a catalogue of incidents that quite possibly could mean that there will be further sanctions against them when the referees report hits the desk in Switzerland.

In 2006, the old club, who left the new club their support in its last will and testament, were charged with the same offence…

Image

Astonishingly, the club contested the charge….

Image

Tolerated ? UEFA fought back…

Image

Then the club fell on its next line of defence-getting the Scottish legal system to look at it, which would normally be a safe bet…

Image

That seemed to wind UEFA up a bit…

Image

Exceptional treatment…a telling phrase in itself…the report included…

Image

Two witnesses with differing views…

Image

A non violent way of maintaining sectarianism ? Ah, thats okay then. that would no doubt have re-assured the lass on the plane had she known that..

Another witness….

Image

UEFA concluded….

Image

Image

Will “rangers ” attempt to defend the indefensible by claiming that the Portuguese locals couldn;t have been ofended as they wouldn’t have understood the lyrics ?

Image

Image

Rangers were then given instructions to help a recurrence…

Image

by the way, it’s the song that is banned, as Linfield are well aware…

Image

“We hate catholics ” needs no such inquiry as into any possible double meanings behind the lyrics, as indeed could be said about “fuck the Pope and the Vatican.”

The SFA could refuse to grant a licence to the club/company to play in Europe.

BT Sport could refuse to cover their games.

The papers could condemn it.

They won’t.

More importantly, the club/company itself could simply refuse to take away tickets for these fixtures.

They could be more active in closing sections of their ground, as education clearly isn’t working.

Of course, they won’t.

They need the money, and that’s all it all about.

The money.

Imagine the outcry if the words were changed to Muslim ,Blacks chineese Asian etc.
It’s ok it’s only Catholics.
For to change the words as thus and I apologise sincerely for using such terms but it has to show how much anger I as a practicing catholic feels to hear such vile hatred. So apologies but
We hate Muslims everybody hates fuckin Muslims.
We Hate Chinkys everybody hates fuckin chinkys
We Hate pakis everybody hates fuckin pakis.
Then you can appreciate the depth of anger this would cause to the good people of such communities.
So why should we sit back and continue to take such shite.
You see the sun has reported this has the record has sky or bbc, yet a 12 year old was hung out to dry for alleged racist comments at a recent game.
Yet in full voice it’s ok for BT not to condone the sectarian singinging yet apologise if someone swears.
Are they also complicit in not acknowledging the sectarian and racist support that follows that club and didn’t want to actually warn uefa of what was being heard loudly just in case the uefa delegate really didnt get it?
Only in our wee country can such anti catholic hatred be allowed not only to continue but be justified. Shocking.
God Bless the Holy church and best wishes to all people regardless of faith and to those of none.

Ryanair comes out of this very, very badly indeed.

Did Mike O’L not recently want more profiling of muslim men travelling by themselves ?

Seems to me that Ryanair should be profiling baldy, overweight, drunken, racist bigots as a priority.

I hope the other passengers get a full refund and that the civil aviation authority looks into this mess, in particular the selling of booze to drunken racist louts.

Took 3 cups of coffee to help digest a really comprehensive piece on what Scotland excels at, sectarianisism. I came back to Scotland in 1999 after 23 years in England. I was 52. I had experienced no sectarianism in England. Their is no doubt te ovrrt sectarianism has largely gone with one notable exception, it’s manifestation around Ranger’s games. The elephant in the room of Scottish society. Yet politicians, the media or the Scottish football authorities are prepared to tackle it. If we wish to be open , honest and brave when are we, Celtic, going to tackle the 2 elephants in our own room, our acceptance of a significant section of our support singing dongs glorifying a terrorist organisation, and, our mealy mouthed response as a club to systematic child abuse enabled by the then management of our club abrogating their responsibility. Let us prove we are more than just a club.

Part of the culture of this country. They are allowed to march about screaming their abuse in the streets, confront anyone of a different persuasion and it is condoned by the so called great and the good.
The Billy Boys Club showed their fear by their actions on Michael Stewart, the media believe throat slashing and intimating an action of blowing out the someones brains with a gun are players banter.
Until our weak lilly livered politicians take action their bile will bring Scotland down from Barcelona to Braga to Lisbon and Manchester.

Sectarianism still remains unchallenged in Scotland, its still by far the most reported “hate crime” in percentage terms its around 20% of the total of hate crimes committed. Since Harland and Wolff moved onto the river Clyde and into Govan it brought its sewerage along with it from Belfast. The Orange Order hide behind the European Human rights laws, that say that they have the right to freedom of assembly on public thorough fares. That is why Glasgow City Council and others cannot put a stop to it. Its 2020 not 1690. I’ve heard it said that Catholic education is partly responsible because it separate’s youngsters in school, if so then why is it only in Scotland, not in any other countries. Its not Catholic schools marching down our streets promoting hatred and bigotry, no, its them wearing sashes.

This whole situation is truly Scotland’s utterly embarrassing shame and if Sevco and the SFA don’t address it immediately, EUFA should start to hammer them effectively until they do! Absolutely disgusted how it has been allowed to continue in our fine country.

The stain of prejudice will never be wiped from Scottish society because those in power are either complicit by their partaking or in their silence.
Anti-Irish/Catholic bigotry isn’t even acknowledged as existing by most of our MSM or commentators. Do we realky think they’d react (as in not reacting at all) the same if 1000s were singing about wading in gay/black/Jewish blood every week? But as nothing is ever said about it we must assume they either condone it or are too weak to challenge it.
Maybe if a lone 12 year old would indulge in a solo of the racist dirges they would magically hear it!?

When their monarchy goes back to a fat, syphilitic serial killer with a passionate hatred of the pope (solely due to power being based in Rome) it’s perhaps not surprising that a fat, serial monogomist in No 10 emboldens his serfs in Scotland and the north of Ireland. Brexit is an ace card for bigots and xenophobes everywhere. Its whole premise is distrust of Johnny foreigner, but particularly for these clowns, the catholic countries of Europe. They think their day has come. Their light at the end of the tunnel however is the express train of Irish unification and Scottish independence. Both movements spearheaded by the liberal left.
Tiocfaidh ár lá is the aspiration of our ancestors,we will see tháinig ár lá/tha an latha againn air tighinn. Our day has come.

Just watched a 10 minute preview of the channel 4 documentary covering the SFA / Independent Report of historical child sex abuse .
Obviously its a ‘ trailer’ as such for the main programme so you would maybe allow a little hype , if any is needed with such a sensitive subject ?
Anyway Channel 4 have gone full blown Sensationalism.
The preview mentions no other club by name.
It also suggests , and then tries to prove ,that Celtic will be liable for damages.
In response the Chairman of the inquiry has today felt the need to release a statement.

The chair of the independent report into historical child sex abuse has said he is “hugely disappointed” over a leaked Channel 4 report on child sex abuse at Celtic Boys’ Club.
Martin Henry, who heads the probe commissioned by the Scottish Football Association, has issued a “personal statement” in response to newspaper reports which trailed the TV programme.
The row centres on whether he indicated that Celtic FC should be held liable for compensation for victims of decades of abuse at Celtic Boys’ Club.
But Henry in his statement said: ”I am hugely disappointed that, following an interview with Channel 4 updating on the significant work undertaken by the Review team, I am compelled to clarify any uncertainty that has arisen from reports this morning.
“Neither in the Channel 4 interview nor in the as yet unpublished final report is there any reference to liability on any clubs that have formed part of the review.
“This is, quite simply, not within the terms of reference the review team have been working to.
“Equally, the final report will make no reference to compensation.
“On the specific reference to Celtic FC, one of many clubs referenced in the final report, the Review in actual fact states clearly that the club has gone to great lengths to address any past contacts between the club and Celtic Boys Club – and have done so effectively.”

The channel 4 preview seems very one sided. And the way they have framed this sensationalist preview is very ugly . No need. This stuff is repugnant. Alex Thompson has dropped his standards here.
