Celtic Diary Monday September 3: Petulance, Public Safety and the Police

We’ve been told that the “rangers ” are vastly improved, we’ve been reminded that that not only are they coming,  journey is almost complete, yet yesterday I couldn’t help but wonder if we perhaps haven’t been fed one or two porkies.

Celtic beat “rangers ” 1-0 but the reality is it wasn’t any different from the heavy defeats inflicted on them last season.

Alright, the scoreline may have made some think it was a close game, but it really wasn’t, and if thats all they have to offer, after another summer of investment, then it could be said that their current league position of seventh is actually flattering them somewhat.

There’s nothing to them. Nothing at all.

And yet they still can’t see it.

Their manager Steven Gerrard, looking a little shellshocked after the game, blamed the referee for not awarding a foul on Ryan Jack , who slipped after challenging with Tom Rogic for the ball-on the edge of the Celtic penalty box.

Celts then broke away and with a few swift passes found Olivier Ntcham ready to score what proved to be the winner.

Gerrard was raging. He probably still is.

We’re disappointed, it’s our rivals and our first defeat together which will take a while to get over,”

Oh, you’ll get used to it.

“I thought we were growing in the game in the second half.

The first time they ventured into Celtic’s half was when they lost possession and Celtic scored. They’d parked the bus in the first and were lucky not to be two or three down at the break.

“I believe we’ve been done by a refereeing decision.

He might have a point, as when Collum blew the whistle to start the game, “rangers ” fell apart almost immediately.

“If we get that, we maybe come away with a point.”

He means the foul that wasn’t.

“The last three or four matches that I’ve seen [between the two] it’s been a bit of a mismatch.

“To get to half-time at 0-0 we were pleased.

He’s spelt “absilutely fucking shocked ” wrong.

“In the second half we matched them if not edged it a bit because I thought we  were the ones who tried to get the equaliser.”

Well, as “we ” were the ones behind, its not really a surprise to find that ” we  were the ones who tried to get the equaliser.”

It was a rude awakening not only for Stevie and his Staunchies, but for a few in their support who really thought their day had come….

Even the old clubs accountant was confident..

But in the end, it was the same old faces , with the same old expressions…

And when the poor souls were forced to stay behind, as is the norm with away fans, they were treated to a lap of honour from Celtic, as is the norm, even when like yesterday, we beat the wee teams..

They didn’t like that either.

But the last word is perhaps the most realistic..

Fucking livid with that performance same thing every year get a new manager then get pumped off the scum. Gerrard no better than murty 😡

Tommy on Twitter-one of us-summed it up better..

Warburton got 8 points out his first 4 SPFL games (sacked before the end of the season)

Pedro got 7 points out his first 4 SPFL games (sacked before the end of the season)

Stevie G has got 5 points out his first 4 SPFL games (apparently he has turned Rangers into a force again)

As for the good guys, it was just business as usual.

The so called crisis is over, not because the “rangers ” have been put in their place, but because the managers and the players have got their eyes back on the prize again.

If Rodgers could have been accused of taking his foot off the pedal to plant it on Moussa Dembeles neck, yesterday showed he’d got over that distraction, and so had the players.

As Armchair Ultras Pod said on twitter…

If anyone had doubts about Brendan after weeks of

Biased media/

Cracked crest/

Rangers r coming/

want away players/

A difficult window

BR responds:

1) Protects squad harmony.

2) Sorts out troublemakers.

3) Handles the media with class.

4) Europe till Xmas.

5) Beats sevco (again).

As Rodgers showed, management is about managing people, and he showed just why he is so highly thought of…

You have to park all the other stuff that was going on. After it all happened I pulled my senior players into the office and explained exactly where we were at. They respected it. Then we walked out of the room and we get on with it.

“I think you see in the performance today the spirit of the team as well as the quality. It can be an exciting season for us again but we deserve a rest now and then come back and try to push on between now and Christmas.”

“I’ll say a bit on it and then that will be it because it’s obviously been very much one way.

“I had a really close relationship with Moussa. I enticed him to come here with a plan going forward.

“He was desperate for the move, of course. We wanted to try to keep him because we didn’t have another option.

“But then a line was overstepped from a behaviour perspective. I’ve been in this situation enough times to know whether you can pull it back or not.

“Like I say, I needed to speak to Moussa. I had a few other senior members of my staff with me. I just asked him, ‘Can you tell the guys and me in the room here, that you received promises from me or any member of Celtic?’ He very clearly and categorically said ‘no’.

“Once he said that, it was fine. I said ‘You can now go, if you can get the move,’.

“There is lots of integrity here with how we work. I understand the model at Celtic is very much about developing talents and moving them on.

“But a lot of stuff was said that was not so nice and ironically, not true.

“Moussa has his move. He’s happy. Deep down I know he’s a good boy, he’s done great for us here and I wish him all the very best with Lyon.”

And that, as they say, is that.

There’s a wee break now for international football. Which is still popular in some places.

Time to regroup after a hectic few weeks, and to concentrate on the Europa campaign, and of course, the three domestic tournaments.

We’ve seen Hearts turn out to be the surprise package so far, leading the table on maximum points , which includes a win over Celtic.

“rangers ” and Aberdeen have stuttered, and if it wasn’t for the formers European run, they’d be looking for a new manager right now. Or at the very least screaming for one.

Aberdeen seem to have reached their limit under Derek McInnes. They , too, have five points from four games, and have yet to play Celtic.

They’ll be looking for someone new soon. If they aren’t already.

On a serious note now, and something that demands urgent investigation, there was almost a tragedy at the game yesterday.

Police or stewards took the decision to close the gates in the Janefield Street underpass before kick off, which led to a situation where fans were worried they may be injured.

Or worse.

Celtic have released a statement.

We are aware of the issues caused by congestion prior to kick-off. We are pleased that stewards and police were able to assist quickly and we thank our supporters for their patience shown while the matter was being dealt with.

We will work closely with police to investigate and review this matter. The safety of our supporters will always be our priority.

Police Scotland have released a statement.

First things first.

Thankfully, the amount of injuries was relatively low for the amount of supporters caught up in the confusion.

However, the last people that Celtic should be investigating this with are the Police.

Based on the Police statement, and the witness reports I’ve seen, the club should demand a full, independent investigation.

Nothing less will suffice. The Police must not be allowed to investigate the Police.

If there is one thing we have learned about our police, and their involvment with football supporters, especially Celtic supporters, its that they are not to be trusted.

Therefore an outside body must be called in to conduct an investigation.

We nearly had a major incident on our hands, that could have resulted in life changing injuries, or even death, and one feels that its only by the grace of God that didn’t happen.

I wasn’t there, and I would appreciate anyone who was to record their own exepriences in the replies. They will be forwarded to the club

One tweet that I have seen, more perhaps than any other, sums up the debacle..

It was horrific I was lucky enough to pull the wife closer to where the wall was as some fresh air was coming in. Someone actually collapsed. Hillsbrough all over it.

Then this, from Sir Edward on twitter…

Your actions at Janefield Street today were shameful On another day, this could have ended in tragedy. …..

Firstly, the underpass at Janefield Street, used every week by thousands, was closed for no discernible reason. Not only that, but people were allowed into the underpass only to find it closed. This resulted in a significant crush.

People were being passed over a wall to get out of the crush. I witnessed young people being taken out of the crush in tears. Officers witnessed all this and did absolutely nothing at all other than argue with fans who asked them to do their job

Someone coming back from the crush told one of your officers that people were being crushed. Her reaction: nothing. When I asked why she wasn’t reporting this her response was “It will be investigated afterwards”. Shameful

Then, in one of the most stupid acts of policing I have ever witnessed, rather than opening the gates, you sent horses in to make people turn back against the approaching crowds, making the crush even more dangerous. Have you learned nothing?

Throughout, it was clear that your officers were not receiving information or sharing it. No guidance was given to people and your officers were clueless as to what was happening. The aggressive behaviour of some of your officers was a disgrace

Your job is to keep people safe. Today, your actions put many people in danger. You must apologise, explain what went wrong and make sure this never happens again.

There were just 800 away supporters at the game.

800.

There would have been 8000 normally. They seem to manage okay then, so what went wrong yesterday ?

What, or who, was responsible for what could have been a disaster ?

I’d like to ask anyone who was there to add their experience to the replies…no matter how insignificant you think what you saw was, and as we cannot trust the police to investigate it, we’ll see what we can come up with.

The police are also welcome to add their thoughts, and i can assure them that they will also be given fair hearing.

In the same way that they, of course, will look at supporters accounts.

Absolutely superb from the team yesterday. We absolutely battered that mob and the score is not a true reflection of the game. As usual the fans were superb, that rendition of Beautiful Sunday at the end was spine tingling. Looking around the main stand there were kids, men and women dancing and singing, it was class. What yesterday has also done is got us all in the same tent again after the past few weeks shenanigans. We still need to do better.

In regard to the incident at the Jungle, I agree Ralph. We need to have a thorough investigation as fans safety is paramount. Police Scotland, what can I say?

Huns, the footballing myopia by the Hun board over the allocation issue backfired on them. I’ve saw many complaining about it and too be honest, not a fuck is given. It matters not a jot, what matters happens on the field.

Their players offered very little, apart from the last 10 mins all they done was resolutely defend their goal, but nothing more.
We have nothing to fear from them, nothing.

The ref, Gollum, he should chuck it. Hopeless.

MOTM, the crossbar.

So all in all it was a “Beautiful Sunday”, for the Huns in my place of work it’s definitely a “Blue Monday.”

Regarding crush yesterday, I’ve pasted below my email i sent to the Celtic trust. Apologies if a bit long winded but it’s still freaking me out how serious this could have been:

Myself and my 13 year old son arrived at stadium approx 11.20am.
Prior to game, we always go to our personalised paving slab near main entrance to touch our stone for luck. We have done so for a few years since we bought it.
Due to segregation, we then proceded to walk East and North, around Jock Stein stand. When we arrived at Janefield, we noticed how busy it was. I can’t be sure of exact time but approx 11.30am.
The mood was jovial, lots of singing from the fans as we made our way slowly down the underpass.
Then the flow stopped. We were all wondering what the holdup was and I began to get worried as we seemed to be getting more and more packed in. I grabbed my son and told him to hold onto me so as we wouldn’t get separated.
As time went on I got more and more concerned. The faces of fellow fans also reflected this as we realised we could hardly move. I was desperately trying to keep some space for my son as he isn’t very tall and was getting crushed into fellow fans.
There were people trying to scale the wall & fence at Graveyard side. I considered this too, or at least lifting my son to safety as I was really panicking now. You could hear people talking and mentioning Hillsborough and you couldn’t help but think you were in middle of a serious disaster.
I looked towards stadium and could see a turnstile. I somehow managed to force myself and son towards the it. My son by this point was getting very upset. At the turnstile, there were 2 distressed elderly men and a woman in a state of sheer panic. I couldn’t believe the turnstile wasn’t manned and really thought we’d get crushed into turnstile. There was a nearby steward standing in against wall and I was pleading with him to let us all through the turnstile- we had valid season tickets. He told us he couldn’t and we had to enter via allocated turnstile in Lisbon Lions stand.
At this point I took decision to try and force my way back towards Jock Stein stand. I had noticed that near stadium wall wasn’t as tightly packed and eventually forced myself and son out.
I went to nearest policemen to try and make him realise the seriousness of what was happening. At this point I noticed lots of police running over to Janefield and also the mounted police were on their way over.
I took my son to some free ground to let us catch our breath and try and compose myself.
We heard over tannoy that segregation was lifted and for fans to go around the main stand. We actually thought we’d missed most of first half but when we got to our seats, game was just about to kick off. Time certainly had stood still and we both looked at each other as time had gone so slowly in Janefield St.
I don’t mind admitting I was scared witless during the situation and feared the worst.
When I returned home after game I got quite emotional when I considered what could have happened. In this day and age it’s not something you’d expect and it was horrifying how out of control it felt.

Not got any direct info from tunnel.

Got to head of it at Celtic End about 1430 and looked very busy with little or no movement. I’m not sure if the halfway gate was closed at this stage.

Mates turned up and eventually headed round other side of stadium after talking to fellow fans. There was no announcement from police or stewards.

Although I was not directly affected, the Celtic statement is unbelievably complacent and needs challenging as much as the police one. There was little assistance and certainly not quickly.

“We are pleased that stewards and police were able to assist quickly and we thank our supporters for their patience shown while the matter was being dealt with.”

Shocking stuff emerging about these crowd crush incidents yesterday, we need answers from Police Scotland.
Not only was this handled in an unprofessional manner, the organisation and ‘ Policing ‘ was not effective.
Peoples lives are at stake for fuck sake, fans clambering onto walls & fences to reach safety?

The Police & Stewards have fucking hours on their hands before kick off to get things organised, what the fuck were they doing yesterday?

Police Scotland need to fucking answer for this!

Celtic and the relevant authorities should have a thorough enquiry into what happened yesterday and make sure that there won’t be a re-occurrence of what was probably a very frightening experience for some. Safety of any supporters always comes first. On the footballing side, I’m still buzzing.

Mate, it was a battering yesterday. That performance was up there with any of the smashing we dished out. I notice there’s plenty of media coverage regarding the safety of fans and rightly so, but not much about the Hun fans causing it with cops and stewards at the end of the game.

I was in the underpass section with my 13 year old daughter from roughly 11.30am. I was coming from the West Stand direction. It was noticeably busier coming passed the West Stand than any previous Rangers game 30 minutes from kick off. One of the reasons I was early was to avoid the late surge. Once we got to the North Stand tunnel it was extremely busy. Our entry turnstile is number 17. It would normally take us a maximum of 2/3 minutes to get to there in normal circumstances. On seeing the large amount of people I grabbed my daughter by her hand and put her behind me so I could take the weight of any on coming person/s. I am 6’2, 14 stones. She is 5’1 and slightly built. I managed to position ourselves next to the turnstiles and we very slowly made our way forward. I have never encountered a crowd so dense. My immediate thought was that if someone fell that we may have a real problem on our hands. People were pushing in front of me and me I could feel my daughters hand tightening on mine. I considered moving back but it would have been impossible. I eventually managed to move my daughter to the front of me so I could get my arms round her and move her forward. We eventually got to our turnstile. It took us about 7-10 minutes at least. I have never been as anxious attending a game at Celtic in my life. I used to stand in the old Jungle and it was chaotic at times exiting it. It was never this bad.

Safety of Supporters should always be paramount which is quite ironic given that there was a piece in the Daily Rangord (which has since disappeared btw) the day before the game with them highlighting the fact extra safety measures were being brought in due to the fact there were only 800 zombies allowed into the ground?
I found the piece rather confusing given that
A there were less of them
B They are usually the ones kicking off after defeat
C Surely less Police are required to Police them as a result?
The fact someone changed the usual set up for fans elsewhere seems to me anyway to point to a massive cock up in terms of movement and control of large bodies of Supporters?
I find it really strange this article has either moved or been pulled?
Be interested to know if anyone has read it and or seen it since?

Ralph ,

had 3 family members at the game , one of whom was caught up in that .
She has spoken this morning , by phone to JPT CLO to inform him of her experience .
JPT thought the police were caught unawares and had pointed out to him that it’s their job NOT to be caught unaware
Also told of aggression /arrogance towards fans rather than helping .
Steward when asked to radio for assistance / instruction , said he couldn’t cause he didn’t have a radio .
If police try misinformation/blame deflection the maybe Hillsborough group could give pointers to counter this given their experiences at the hands of police

I was in middle of it. Kicked off after 11.30. Chaos in there. Kids screaming. I feared the worst. Squeezed out and went to polis asking what is happening they then said only way round is over the wall and through cemetery. Polis were actually telling folk to go up wall.
Hundreds of us done that but folk were falling and kids getting stuck. It’s a 7ft wall!!
Shambles yesterday missed the first 10mins of game also.

Ask them to have an enquiry into the deid cheats and their stolen titles and what the Tory Plc are doing about it other than putting Celtic supporters money in their bank accounts.Instead of selling our players why don’t sue the Hun and SFA guys who have been proven in court to be fraudulent

keepthehighbawslow

I passed through the underpass about 5/10 mins before this happened and you were already noticing how busy it was getting. There is always a flood in late but i think due to there only being 800 of them that meant there were about 7000 more of us to negotiate this bottleneck. Our seats are in the main stand and on any other occasion you will freely walk round to the front but due to them we cannot and had to take the long way round and loop the stadium as do many. Add in 7000 more coming in different directions then i can guess why this happened. The decisions police make at times like these always seem to be the wrong one and thankfully this wasn’t worse than it could have been!!

keepthehighbawslow ,

think you’ve identified the main cause of the problem in your post ; seems quite straightforward and obvious right ?

Isn’t it worrying that people in responsible positions at both Celtic and PoliceScotland hand’t identified this beforehand ?

What the f*ck is meant by a “dynamic situation”?
Is it simply Police Scotland speak for “something’s happened and we don’t quite know what’s going on or how we can help
“But we might have caused it and don’t want to admit it so let’s throw out some jargon to deflect any blame.”

To be caught in a crush like that on your own is bad enough, but to be there with one of your kids must have been a nightmare.

The club statement and that of the police smell of fear and the hope that this will all blow over.

If they do not investigate this thoroughly and learn what went wrong, they are setting themselves up for a future disaster that will result in the loss of life.

Only one person seems to have been injured enough to be taken to hospital, so this seems the correct time to acknowledge that there was a problem and devise measures to fix it for the future.

By the way, I am not minimising the effect that this had on people, merely saying the fallout to the authorities would be minimal if they admit that mistakes were made and that they can learn from the situation.

A great result yesterday. I am not blind to the fact that the club still face extremely large issues…these have not changed. However, this is not the time to air them.

I have never wanted to win a game as much as I did the one we played yesterday. Pity it turned out to only be by one goal. The psychological damage of hitting one or two more would have been profound.

Sevco’s tactics of intimidation did not deserve to work, and they did not. It was impressive how our team reacted to them…no retaliation. Even a suggestion of that would have resulted in Collum sending a player off. His booking of Brown was evidence of that.

We won the game, now it is time to expose the performance of the ref. McGregor’s behaviour needs to be highlighted as does Lafferty’s in his fake at Brown’s tackle. Appeal the bookings of Brown and Edouard, the last being ludicrous.

Re the actual game , couldn’t be happier for BR ; in one fell swoop turned the whole summer narrative on it’s head , brilliant!
Considering the Summer he’s had , the pressure he must have been under he showed EVERYONE just how good a manager he is .
Enjoy our time with him ; despite some scandalous comments recently on his abilities or where we ” got him from ” and how “easily ” he could be replaced – on more than one site – we’re fortunate to have him .

I read that Desmond will actually attend the annual post summer review , as opposed to the usual conference call .
This hopefully is good news of intent and a step in the right direction .
There’s a lot good at Celtic right now but the suits ( AND ALMOST NON EXISTENT PR DEPT )really have to up their game to BR level or be replaced by individuals who can .

I remember being caught in a crush when I was a kid outside Airdrie’s old ground. Celtic has drawn them in the cup and the cops were unprepared for the number of people. I was lifted above the crowd along with other kids and body surfed to safet spots. For a potential life threatening crush to happen in 2018 is simply incompetence or unpreparedness or both. An independent investigation must be set up and everybody’s roles including Police, Stewards and Celtic FC must be examined and lessons learned to avoid this in future.

I also note that the actual price for Moussa was 22 million pounds. Published today by Celtic. Pretty good business on a 500k outlay. Good luck to him in Lyon I hope he does well and I hope Celtic included a sign on clause for a new Club

I sit in 403 use T17 it usually takes 5 mins for the kerrydale suite to walk round get in and up the stairs not yesterday. That was a nightmare, myself and my 7yr old son arrived at front of stadium about 11.15 spoke to a few people we knew for 5 mins then started to walk round thinking I’ll get in early go to toilet and be in seat in no time. Aye right i got to the back before the tunnel seen the crowds a was like here we go this is a bit busy, then people started banging into Brian barging past in both directions so i lifted him this was about 11.25 crowd was moving slowly all singing in a good mood then i could feel people getting closer to us in all directions the singing stopped could hear people getting anxious my son was getting worried as we were literally getting crushed as the crowd stopped going forward but more and more people kept coming behind us thankfully i managed to get into the wall i started moving a bit, i genuinely thought the game had started by this point, i was holding my son up with both arms as he’s 7 not too light any more so i couldn’t even get my phone out to check time but when I thought of that i said even if i could get phone if i drop it because someone bangs into me then its a goner no chance of getting it back then i thought ibetter hold onto Brian more if i lose grip and he gradually slios out my arms he will get crushed to death i seriously started to panic a bit but kept calm for son who kept asking how much longer will it be, thanks to the buy behind me who kept talking to my son as well trying to comfort him tell him we’ve not got far to go until T17 as i had already told him thats where we’re going he said he was too. Anyway i was next to wall just got past T16 and more and more people seemed to be coming towards me in single file i was getting pushed up against wall i immediately knew if i stay here we’re getting squashed and Brian didn’t like it near the wall either honestly felt like there was less air to breathe i could feel chest getting tighter with people around me getting closer the sweat was pouring out me, my arms were killing me at this stage holding Brian up for so long then a fire exit opened not far from T17 couple of paramedics came out door i was straight in front of door getting pushed into it only way to safety was inside and steward inside was shouting at us to get back out i said we’re getting crushed so did about 10 other folk before the door was closed again, it was a shambles, i definitely feared for my sons life as i didn’t know how much longer we were going to be in that situation. Anyway we got passed steward who was shouting at us i said we’re not going back out there I’ve got season tickets look then walked up stairs, 10 other people were lucky enough to get in this fire exit with us, thats got to be one of if not the most scared i have been in a crowd. If one person fell then it would be a domino effect we would all have got crushed. Eventually got to our seats a minute before kick off but it seemed like an eternity we were in that crowd but was only 30 mins its still a lot longer than what police and Celtic are saying. Their statements are crap, this overcrowded tunnel was already bad when i got there at 11.25 id say it took 10 more mins before we came to a complete stop then just shuffled along for about 20 mins, i didnt see 1 steward at any gates before ours no police under tunnel utter chaos no organisation nothing, for them to say it was dealt with quickly and it happened at 11.50 is nonsense. There are thousands of us that know the truth, my time on videos will prove them out to be lying too

I got to Celtic park at 11.40 yesterday and as i made my way towards Janefield street it was noticeably chockabloc. As i started to move with the crowd very slowly down Janefield street it was becoming clear there wasn’t a great deal of room to move. I definitely missed the worst of the crushing which occurred after i got in but it was striking that as the chaos grew the amount of police and stewards lessened. It was an absolute disaster waiting to happen and i’m so relieved no one was seriously hurt or worse. Janefield street is so narrow and closing the bottom gate seems ludicrous.

I remember the last janefield street crush.
Mounted police charged down like fuckin huntsmen.
It was scary then hope all the injured are on the mend. Itsxa fuckin disgrace the game just didn’t happen to come around they have known about it for months. Get it sorted.
Onto the game and our old anthem never felt so apt after the weeks and days prior to kick off.
When you walk through a storm hold your head up high, and dont be afraid of the dark.
The storm clouds gathered, but one man remained focused, one man held his head up high, and one man ensured that Celtic is much much more than any player.Boyata got sorted out as did Dembele, the squad found unity and the manager showed us why he is the boss.
Brendan we are very lucky to have you.
God Bless the Celtic.

Too true! I hope BR stays and writes his name into history as the 10 in a row.

Pointless writing to Celtic or police Scotland both will cover up, this needs MPs and MSPs to get any kind of enquiry, the decision to close the gate without adequate notification to the support was criminally negligent.

Well said Ref
Former REFEREE Dermot Gallagher has given his opinion on the Glasgow Derby game and more specifically the incident that Steven Gerrard is hilariously blaming for the Ibrox club’s downfall.

In the build-up to Celtic’s wonderful counter-attack where they showed their class and composure to get the goal, the Gers boss cried it was a foul to his player, Ryan Jack and the game should have been stopped.

The Scouse not appearing to sell any hint of irony as he admits his goalkeeper should have been sent off in the first half for kicking out.

Pundits have been giving their thoughts on the flashpoint with opinion split down the middle but now a top ex-referee has his say on Sky Sports News, and well, the Gers fans aren’t going to like it.

Dermot Said: Jack jumps into the back of Rogic, so initiates the first foul, Celtic would get the advantage. So if anything, it was a foul to Celtic.
On the second incident of McGregor kicking out at Ajer Dermot was 100% when he said the player should have seen red and Celtic awarded a penalty.

Stevie you cling on to No one likes us fantasy.

Aberdeen v Sevco 1-1
” The referee has cost us the game & these decisions have been going against us for years”- Gerrard.

Celtic 1 v Sevco 0 ( smiles )

“The referee cost us the game, it’s a foul”

I once thought Gerrard had some class. It seems he’s found his level though. Imagine managing a club whose fans are saying that because of his religion and ancestry, he “should go back home the Famine’s over.” Uncle Tom/Uncle Tim springs to mind. Gerrard was sent off 8 times in his career! I think that’s a lot. I can’t recall Broonie being sent off very often. Anyone have the figures? Was our Maestro McStay ever sent off?
Brendan needs to address the issue about other clubs trying to cripple Scott Brown and Kieran Tierney. I wish we could added a few goals to really humiliate those morons.

“There is no Old Firm”.

Why has Sevco News and other associated Sevco headlines appearing on the “Celtic News” site, who wants to read guff coming from across the river, its only Celtic news we want to read. We are fed enough shite from the MSM we don’t want to see headlines from them.

I hope that Brendan is handed most or all of the Dembelle transfer money to spend refreshing the team, we have some great players but they need some help with a couple of additions. Brendan proved once again how good a manager he is, but judging by the latest episode any player who wants to leave, we should bring in replacements ASAP until they are sold. Brendan is a class act, we need to show him and the board must back him, show confidence in him, so back him properly.

Thank you Fergal Keane, your five episodes of the “Story of Ireland” finished on BBC4 last night, I enjoyed so much of it and learned a lot. My only disappointment was that the last episode crammed too much in, they should have have spent more time examining and reporting the last 100 years, but it was brilliant.

Simple solution to latest episode at Celtic park don’t let the Huns in ban the lot of them, fuck atmosphere safety is the most important thing, no Huns equals complete safety. They wanted the reduction, the police and everyone else panders to them, time to tell them to fuck off never to return. One Celtic fan injured is one too many.

Still no strike action yet or ex referee’s calling him a disgrace?

Stupid, stupid Huns.

Who would win a smelly fight between Stilton and the currant buns, answer the Huns, its a known fact that they never wash, brush there shoes or press there breeks, the evidence is there, watched them marching last night, not a razor, tin of shoe polish or an iron between them. We should ask them, “do you pod”

Free Willy, the only good thing about Willie Collum is that he is soooo bad at refereeing, but he is fair to everyone, he is universally bad at refereeing, every team in Scotia complains about him, he went to the Mercury school of refereeing, nobody, but nobody can understand any of his decisions.

BroxburnBhoy

Some of the nonsense printed and spouted post the completely dominant performance which we all saw is almost on the level of pish similar to the survival myth! Gap closing says Charlie Nicolas! McGregor trying to wriggle free of Ajer says Lee McCulloch! Should have been a foul says Ryan Jack and referee was reason they lost says their manager. They should be put in a room and made to watch the video. It’s there all there. They were simply dominated and beaten by a very much better team. Hard to admit for them and yet oh so true. Lucky they made the Europa or Gerrard would be gone already

Gerrard must regret getting involved with second ranjurs, they are an embarrassment to football & as Graham Spiers once described them ” the most socially challenged support in football.

Celtic the musical is brilliant, it was on a dreary new years eve as the shades of night fell down, a lorry load of volunteers approached..

Gerrard looked nervous, he sent out for an emergency supply of Imodium and a fresh pair of breeks, he was nervous and his team, well they are…..

So McGregor has no case to answer – this is such a poor decision that even “Rangers” news is baffled by it. Imagine some orc website surprised that no retrospective action was taken against the dodgy goalie “lashing out” as their own manager described it. Come on Celtic FC and other clubs challenge these barmy decisions. Once again violent conduct by the Sevco players goes unpunished.

Another disgraceful decision from the SFA, its three man panel of ex referees, judges that there was no red card requirement, 2 out of 3 the majority came to this disgraceful decision. Ms.Whyte is the new Compliance Officer, but its the anonymous panel of, 2 masons and 1 neutral, are the new “anything goes” for the blue nosed panel. I had hoped that Ian Maxwell the CEO at the SFA would bring a fairer view to the institutionalist SFA, how wrong was I. So its the same old song but with a different meaning since Regan has gone. Absolutely disgraceful, all our players can do, is to give it back and see the red cards flash then… Scotland’s shame has many tentacles and reaches everywhere.

A total sickener Mike and probably the worst thing with this is that it increases the likelihood of thugs like this re-offending. Twice in little more than a week, McGregor must be having a right laugh.

It is that Yoker, I know that football has improved in many ways, but you are right it is sickening that no-one will challenge disgraceful actions like that. It sends out a despicable message, Noel mentioned that it began with Morelos red card against the Dandies McKenna and there was Lafferty’s stamp on Lustig etc. etc. If the governing bodies alloy this to continue, them I’m afraid that retaliation is the players only option to stop it, thinking back to the Lions and Gemmell, ten thirty and Bobby Murdoch opposition teams would not get away with that, they would get it back, that would soon stop it..

Remember Beckham’s wee flick out.. red card.
Lafferty going head close against Mulgrew, red card Mulgrew.
Morelos kick at MaKenna, red card rescinded.
McGregor’s two assaults against Hartley and Ajer.. nothing.
Lafferty’s stamp on Lustig.. nothing.
Naesmith on Hayes.. yellow?
Brown’s 50-50 with Lafferty’s dive.. yellow Brown.
The Huns play UFA in Russia.. two red cards.
Mulumba is a strong player, a good player, looking forward to watching him and Benkovic playing, but who makes way for him?
Queens Park want £5 mill. for selling the SFA Hampden, the SFA have offered under £3 mill. Haughey the ex Celtic director is offering to make up the balance. Mibbee they will call it the Lord Haw Haw ground, WTF is THAT all about? What about the club he purported to be a supporter of? what a bampot. Common the Bettys. Scottish footballs a joke with EBT McLeish, deary, deary me…

The catalogue of injustices favouring the huns looks highly likely to continue at an increasing rate as the establishment desperately try to stop the 10 IAR. Something has to be done. Re Mulumbu, he’ll come in handty when SB or ON are injured or need rested. It’ll be interesting to see if Benkovic does well enough to displace Ajer.

I doubt I’ll get my daughters to go back to a game again any time soon. Got season tickets for my 4 children, and took my youngest (2 girls) for the first time to a Rangers game as I assumed it’d be a safer environment with a reduced away support – how wrong was I. I’ve not seen it reported anywhere else yet, but to escape the crushing we were directed into turnstiles for free access without using any tickets (incidentally by a charity collection lady – not police or steward). Grateful for the escape – but in hindsight I’m pretty sure that’s what also happened at Hillsborough and moved the crushing from outside to in.

And if any of the guys who were around me and my wife and helped try to shield the girls (who were hysterical) a bit from the crush – thankyou very much, its greatly appreciated.

Time for action Celtic.
Enough is Enough. One club is clearly benefiting from a judicial panel which is clearly failing in its role. Surely we must be asking for the current members to be removed as they are clearly biased in their rulings to one particular club.
Have some fuckin balls Peter before one or more of our players suffers a serious career threatening injury.
