Celtic Diary Wednesday July 18: The SFA, The SFO and the OBFA

Perhaps the most interesting reply to yesterdays diary illuminates best the fact that Resolution 12, and those behind it,  are not going away…

The Res12 originator is currently considering the decision on whether the following organisation get the report regardless of the SFA’s result, it has always been the choice of last resort but now it is being considered a moral imperative regardless of the result, however awaiting the SFA’s result is intriguing and worth following.

Let battle commence.

Away from that for a moment, and tonight sees the first competitive home game of the when alashkert roll into town hoping to overturn a three goal deficit from the first leg of the first round UCL qualifier.

With Celtic looking very sharp even this early, you’d have to say they can;t be overly optimistic.

In fact, Brendan has told his charges to play the game at the level they would if it were Paris St germain they were playing..

Image result for hiding behind couch

I think he meant with regards to the tempo.

Scott Brown is up for it. Then again, he’s always up for it;

“We’ve got to go the same way,”

“It’s still kind of pre-season for us so we’ll try to get minutes on the park and get as fit as we possibly can for our season starting. But this is a huge game for us at Celtic Park. The pitch is looking good and the fans will be there to support us so we’re looking forward to it.

“I know we’ve got a 3-0 lead but we want to create chances, score more goals and make it as comfortable as we can early doors. They came for us early doors in the first game due to the heat, so it’s going to be a different game them coming here to Celtic Park and us controlling the game.”

All about morale and confidence, and of course, if you don’t do what the boss says, you won’t be playing in the following game.

We want to get back in the Champions League,”

“We’ve done it the last two seasons but this season is going to be that bit harder with the fourth game as well. It’s going to be difficult to do and we’ll take it one game at a time but that’s our main aim.

“We’ve got a great bunch of lads and good management staff as well. The club’s going in the right direction so for us we should be pushing that as far we possibly can”.

The experience gained, and the continuity of the squad means that they should be ready for the challenge of the next few weeks, but I’m fairly sure there will be a few twists and turns before its all over.

Ask Apoel Nicosia, who were expected to overcome Suduva in their qualifier. They didn;t, and one or two other seeds, notably Red Star Belgrade and Celtic’s next possible opponents Rosenborg, both of whom are treading a fine line in their ties.

Although reallistically it doesn;t matter who wins, as the team that gets through over two legs will be the stronger of the pair, and just becuase they are a lesser name, or had a good run last season, doesn’t make any difference.

Make sure you brush your hair and clean your teeth tonight, as the police are back with their cameras trying desperately to justify their existence.

This time, they are making up the excuses as they go along, as was noted on Saturday..

Here they are filming…

Have a look at the lass on the right of the picture..

Oops…she obviously left for work all of a fluster in the morn…

But its a football match, so perhaps it doesn’t count ?

Er, no. It counts. It always counts.

The police officers , according to Superintendent John MacBride, were acting in response to an incident. Itself unusual for the police at a football match, who usually cause an incident.

Replying to

“One of these officers was assaulted and both were subjected to verbal abuse. “If you don’t want police filming supporters at the game, don’t commit a crime.” Superintendent John McBride

Of course they were. It was in all the papers…

However, he was a little less forthcoming about another incident, before the game, which presumably also warranted the use of cameras…

The police have long since lost the trust of the general public, and it doesn’t look like they’ll be getting it back any time soon.

Then again, Police Scotland sounds more like an order than an organisation…

The superintendent, given his penchant for the use of video images, must have some interesting footage available after he made it public that he was aware of the annual “Boyne Parade ” , taken outside a church on the route, which would show us exactly who was spitting at and hurling abuse at the congregation.

There will be traffic disruptions in Glasgow city centre this Saturday as the annual Boyne Parade takes place. Superintendent John McBride has an important safety & travel message ahead of the event 👇👇 For more information on road closures, visit:

Must have just been a coincidence they went past a church as the mass was finishing…

Although it has to be said that the limited police presence at the march could have been down to officers booking the day off so they could enjoy a walk around the town with their mates…

Another battle which is still to be won….

Hey, here’s a thought, be real careful tonight.

If you film the crowd, or any part of the game, you could be charged with impersonating a police officer ?

Away from that, congratulations to “rangers ” who join Aberdeen in the second round of the Europa League after they eliminated Shupke 2-0 on aggregate after a brave and battling dislay of courage and endeavour in Macedonia last night.

The Scots staunchly defended their lead and refused to surrender to an onslaught from their opponents, and must be praised for punching above their weight.

Shupke have a bank account, a qualified manager and a deal in place which allows them  to sell their own kits , so the achievements of Stevie G’s Hunny’s cannot be understated.

Well done.

Image result for thumbs up gif

You see, Stevie G is different, and the media , themselves no slouches, have spotted this.

David McCarthy of the Record once warned us about the perils of hiring a great player and expecting him to be a great manager…

Yet they were right about Gerrard.

How do they do it ?

And the Ibrox  supporters did us proud as well, hardly abusing any young kids they came into contact with and videoing it.

There’s a video doing the rounds, but only one, to be fair, which has to be an improvement.

And the songs, oh, they are so inventive, and proud of their new tunes, which hardly mention killing and hating catholics at all…

Oops.

Get the London police involved, Scotland is utterly corrupt.

The SNP are either involved (their police force either filming Celtic fans or walking away outside churches when the Hate Parade is on) or the SNP looking away (SFA / the farcical interpretation of company and other law in Scottish football).

PERSISTANCE !

Interesting that Cliff Richard won his case against the BBC in his privacy hearing, interesting that the BBC, arrogant as ever would consider appealing, that says that the European convention towards a persons right to privacy is sacrosanct. The person at the BBC who instigated the case has now transferred/tuped to BBC Scotland.
As for Sir Cliff, he has been jailed for crimes against humanity, Congratulation and celebrations, we want the World to know were as happy as Jimmybee.

I think that most people would sympathise with him for the pre-planned raid on his home, helicopters, camera and police cars, it seems that the police nowadays are more interested in appearing in front of the cameras than fighting crime. (or using cameras) He received substantial damages from the police and now the BBC. Them at the BBC must not have heard of the European Convention that protects individuals right to privacy. Funny that, for me its about fairness some individuals need to be investigated and their exploits published so a question of judgement. What gets right up my hole is that freedom of speech is being denied for politically correctness. If strangeness is to be outlawed then nearly all polititicions would be arrested.
Hope you are enjoying your holidays.

MLK quote is similar to that used in connection with the Nazis before and in WW2. May well be wrong about this but I feel many fans on here and the wider family would be willing to take a stand to end this collusion and corruption .Boycotting games isn’t going to work and a previous petition didn’t have the numbers to create a difference. Even if it did they would just ignore it. Peaceful, non violent action… a march without the pitchforks. I don’t know, just an idea.

“The Res12 originator”, not sure what this means, as i thought there were 4 of them.

Also, which report are we talking about, the CO one or one put together by the Res12 guys and why should the City of London police be interested 5-7 years later?

Auldheid
Reply to  The Cha

The poster is the chap who got the Res12 ball rolling.

From the off, based on what was known in 2013, the suspicion was that in order to obtain a licence the SFA had to be told porkies.

That suspicion has coalesced into a firm belief as result of what has been learned since 2013.

If that belief were unsound I think SFA would have dismissed it rather than try to avoid investigating it as they have done by trying to focus only on RFC activity in June and September.

The SFA have been given good reason to revisit the reasons they were given to exclude that period from JPDT scrutiny.

It is because the possibility that fraud exists that it has taken 5 years wading through treacle to get to where we are.

The threat of police involvement should focus minds at SFA.

Auldheid
Reply to  The Cha

There is no limitation in UEFA rules either and they have left the door open for a member club of the SFA to approach them.

If JPDT do not address everything that took place in 2011 then Celtic could do what Res12 asked and ask UEFA to rule.

The Cha,
The City of London police from my understanding, are the appropriate body for shareholders with grievances, involving companies who trade on the London Stock Exchange.
I’m also sure this was the organisation who passed notification of potential tax fraud to HMRC in 2009 was it? So demonstrating a lack of political allegiance when it comes to protecting the integrity of the LSE. Round it off nicely eh

Reply to  Canamalar

Cheers for reply.

2009, IIRC, was the raid on Newcastle that uncovered the Boumsong shenanigans and leading back to themums and, I think you’re correct that it was undertaken by the City of London .

Mike

Reply to  Canamalar

What was the light bulb moment that aroused your suspicions in 2013?
The C.W. trials confirmed those suspicions as fact. We can assume that the C.O. report timeline has been shifted to deflect attention from the critical time, I.E. the licence application, so presumably they are trying to whitewash his report. Approaching the city of London police must be because they are the experts in this type of fraud and it removes the possibilities of any internal type of political deflection. I take it that after the investigation is completed and the results are known, then a decision will be taken on what happens next.

Reply to  Mike

Suspicion was aroused long before 2013, it was being discussed on cqn since 2009/10 as the wtc was well known.
Research into the best way to address it started 2012 as did the spark to do something. Finding the CFCB document was the breakthrough. After bumping my gums for most of 2011 & 2012, a late night discussion with a fellow CQN’r and the immortal line “what are you going to do about it” sparked the action.
Initially my ire was directed at the board for not protecting the shareholders interests however that did not go down well with the majority of those I needed as supporters if a resolution to the Celtic Plc AGM was to be successful. The strategy was changed to involve the board, as that would also demonstrated the boards commitment to protecting the shareholders interests. All of the developments will be in CQN’s archives, as the whole campaign was supposed to be transparent and that is where I posted each development, problem being, we never took account of the Celtic Plc’s aversion to transparency, so once they became involved we were told a condition of their cooperation was our silence. Then begun 4 years of Plc barriers dressed as devils advocate discussion, in that 4 years the Plc had one deliverable requested by the team, to date they have not delivered, a blank copy of the UEFA competition application form.
The Plc are responsible for continuation of SFA involvement. The heart breaker for me is that while the discussions where taking place, UEFA were in consultation with the clubs about the 5 year time bar on charges. A rule I came across by chance when looking to see if another rule had changed in the updated Regs.
This turned out to be a lucky break as we were given permission to write to UEFA directly which sped up our delivery, qualifying our notice of complaint as evidence that could be referenced by the Plc regardless of erroneous interpretation by the respondent.
That the Plc had copied UEFA in 2011 on the same issue was as much a surprise to us as everyone else, when their hand was forced by the SFA to make the knowledge public. Had this been shared at the outset then we would have probably agreed there was no need for res12.
As it turns out, I may be returning to my original idea that the Plc board are not protecting the interests of all shareholders. If the SFA get away with this then our Plc are solely responsible. They have sat on solid evidence since 2014.

Celtic will line up as follows for tonight’s CL qualifier against Alashkert:

CELTIC (4-2-3-1) Gordon; Hendry, Ajer, Simunovic, Tierney; Brown, Ntcham; Forrest, Edouard, McGregor; Dembele
Subs: Bain, Sinclair, Christie, Allan, Ralston, Johnston, Kouassi

I imagine our bhoys will go all out for an early goal to put the tie to bed asap. I’d love to see them notch up a cricket score as there is no better way of entertaining the fans and striking the fear of death into our next opponents. A tad disappointed that Morgan and the Griff haven’t recovered yet but there’s a pretty good chance super Mikey Johnston will get a run in the second half to perform a few tricks and add to the Armenian’s misery. I can see Moussa or Eddy getting a hat-trick tonight.

Prediction: 6-0

Marvellous 10 man performance. albeit against poor quality opposition. Difficult to select a MOTM, probably wee Jamesie whose tireless running made all the difference. Not a single bad display from our bhohys, even Hendry looked a lot more composed than in his last game against Standard. Pity about that arsehole referee though, as bad as they come. Should be able to do the business on Rosenburg again.

Watching the game live for the first time in years I thought broonie and Forrest dembele Tierney ajer and Odsonne were standouts. Not much opposition. Jozos tackle looked innocuous in real time but without replays I couldn’t give judgement here. Green brigade are brilliant and remind me of a time when the whole ground was vociferous. Persistence beats Resistance.

What was the lightbulb moment in 2012/ 2013 that aroused suspicions.
what was it that made the originator think, that something wasn’t right.
The trials confirmed these educated suspicions that a fraud might have been committed.
So now the SFA who investigated in the knowledge that the timeline confirmed that a fraud might have taken place and then moved the goalposts away from the most damning timeline to dates later on, by doing so that perhaps make them even with the new CEO complicit in avoiding the most damning evidence in the hope of the truth of the possible fraud.
The city of London police are experts in investigating possible fraud, not being based in Scotland gives them a more balanced view with less outside influences.
The scare factor in perhaps being investigated by the police would add more pressure on to the SFA to reveal the true facts and the correct timeline that should be investigated.
Other avenues are open to the Res.12 bhoys and the board if they want to explore them, UEFA, as perhaps a last resort the CSA and the C T could get involved to add more pressure to the SFA. Good luck clearly Persistence beats Resistance.

I thought the red card was deserved m8 from my seat. He has that rashness about him at times.
Moussa going off was a concern lets hope hes ok for next week but might be better to keep him till the return leg. Eddie could go through the middle and sincy out left if Moussa is struggling. Hendry looks better aas a centre back him and Ajer should do ok against the norwegians.
Jamesy was immense and McGregor like you say is just one of those players that you can’t do without. He can play anywhere.
How long is Griff out for and with Lustig Rogic Boyata still to come back things are looking as good as we’ve seen for a few years at this stage of the season.

CalMac is definitely a better all-round player than Armstrong. Ntcham is a tremendous player too but should leave the set-pieces for someone else. Our biggest worry is once again injuries – Big Compper is nobbled again and ruled out for the Rosenborg game next week – FFS, this guy is a waste of space.

Monti

What is going on at Celtic with the defence?
All of a sudden Boyata & Simunovic are ‘ staying ‘ when both these players are not good enough?
Don’t give me this pish about Boyata having a good World cup, that is not relevant to his Celtic performance.
Compper is a fucking dud, it’s that simple.
We are in the middle of CL qualifiers and in my opinion, we don’t have a defence!

I assume that Jozo will get a 3 game ban for violent conduct, which will put him out until the 2nd leg of the 3rd round.

On the plus side that’ll be the time that our World Cup medalist will be back, so our preferred central back pairing will see us through to the group stages.

The cha i think the coaching staff rate Hendry very highly. With Lustig back then Hendry and Ajer would be ok for the qualifiers. Boyata should be back before long its not as if he played in the big games so another week off should see him back training.I think Bitton has a longer term injury ?

Reply to  jimmybee

I forgot that Bitton is injured but also that Tierney has played CB as well.

If you mean Ajer and Hendry for the Rosenorg games then I agree but not sure I’d be happy with that in the 3rd round and play-off games depending on who we get.

Re Boy – I thought I saw somewhere that Rodgers had said WC players get 2 weeks off after they finish, which would’ve him back just before the 2nd leg but probably not match fit.

I’m not in favour of rushing players back, as rest periods are usually carefully considered to avoid injuries etc.

Obviously if things don’t go to plan next Wed then needs must and he may need to come back earlier than planned.

I am more interested in how Dembelle is, how bad is his injury, he came back this season as if he was up for it, fitter than last year.
Dembelle up front with French Eddy is the key to this season’s C.L. qualifiers, centre-backs are way down the pecking order, the strikers wingers, midfielders are the goal creators, I just hope that Moussa’s injury is not longer term.

Gubbed them one-nil, If we have both Moussa and Eddy available they take the pressure of the defence, French Eddy was brilliant last night as well as unselfish, he clearly saw that Calmac was slightly offside and was cool and strong enough to make a great pass to Jamsey.
Defence starts with the strikers who relieve pressure on the defenders and score the goals that will see us through. I would rather miss a defender than Moussa, even dunkeys can defend but hivny see one that can shrug a big thick defender aside and then have the subtly to score a goal. Big strikers are like gold, defenders are as thick as mince as Simonovic proved last…night.
