Celtic Diary Tuesday March 6: Hype, Hope and Hallucinogenics

After a break of three days the diary returns, and all everyone is talking about is Celtic and “rangers ”

You’ll be able to spot the ones who’ve indulged in hallucinogenics.

Scotlands most successful club will face the country’s new kids on the block three times before the end of the season, after the sponsors got their wish and the two were drawn to face each other in the Scottish cup semi finals, which was hardly a surprise, as its the only way to guarantee the “big game” for William Hill.

Celtic beat morton 3-0 in a game that will quickly be deleted from one’s memory, with two goals from Moussa Dembele and one from Oddsone Edouard, to give a scoreline that apperently flattered Celtic, at east in the eyes pof Sky Tv’s expert pundits..

And yet…

I didn’t see the game, I’m kind of anti Scottish Cup, at least until the final, but those stats tell a different story.

but it does kind of tie in with the narrative that The Rangers Are coming, and the hype that will feed the bears during the run up to each of the three games.

Unless they are put firmly in their place on Sunday.

The most surreal moment of the weekend came when the Cup draw was made and the “rangers ” players cheered at the news they would face Celtic.

Fair enough, they don’t get many big games, and i suppose it’ll be a nice day out for Graeme murty’s journeymen ad loanees, but cheering ?

I suppose thats what a couple of wins does for morale.

And the support ? shall we just say that expectations have gone through the roof. Then again, the state of the roof down Govan way probably does make that fairly easy to do.

Graeme Murty, the figurehead for Jimmy Nicholl at Ibrox , said;

“I called it (the draw), sitting in the Sky studio, but apparently the sound that came out of our changing room when the draw came through was raucous and loud.

“I think that is indicative of where the squad are, they’re flowing with confidence just now. They want to get into the games against Celtic and they’re going to relish the challenge.

“It’s a really good marker for looking at a team who want to get into that game and really go and mix it up.”

I think its a sign they’ve been eating too many mushrooms.

Back at the ranch, and Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers seemed a little bewildered by all the kerfuffle..

“It doesn’t really concern me, to be honest, what the noise is. I am very much focused on Celtic really.

“Graeme has done a good job there stabilising their squad.

They have had some good results and one thing that they have got that they been searching for, certainly in my time up here, has been consistency.

“They have players who know what it means to play for Rangers and be in and around it and they have got some spirit now.

“But we go with equally the same attitude that we always have.”

The first clash, sunday’s eague game could see Celtic go nine clear with a game in hand, but a win for “rangers” , as unlikely as it may seem, would bring the gap to three points, and in the eyes of many they’ve already won the game and there is a title race on.

Of course, this gives the media something to write about. Hardly unsurprising, and as a result, the hordes are lapping it up.

For their sakes, lets hope that reality doesn’t drop them back on the ground too harshly.

Actually, lets not.

Bollocks to them and their new club , which has wilfully ignored the basic rules of football, business and human decency.

The truth is an alien concept to some in Scottish football.

At the moment I’m working through a lot of detail on the Resolution 12 issue, and some oddities that we maybe missed the first time around which have raised a few eyebrows, bit as usual, I want to be spot on with what I conclude.

One thing for the moment which puzzles me, and I’m looking back through some old stuff to try to get an answer, well, two things, in fact, are firstly why has no one ever asked Lord Nimmo Smith about the evidence he was not given to help him with his review, and if he feels that in order to prevent his name forever being associated with the now discredited report, if he wants to hold another review.

Surely there are at least grounds to ask him ?

Not , of course that our media seem overly fond of asking any questions of anybody who might shed some light on what will be remembered as the Cheating Years…

And secondly, ah well, I’ll leave that until I’ve done a bit more digging.

For now , though, consider this..

Could it be that they really are the same club ? Or has someone told UEFA that they are ?

Or does none of it really matter becuase they’ll have gone tits up again by the time the Europa League kicks in next season ?

Are they the same club ? Lets ask the guy who owned them .. well, his QC..

Or another QC..

One snippet that concerns me, and it should concern everyone, came from Phil MacGhiollabhan, who claimed that on one national newspaper the news reporters were about to run with a story concerning the anomoloies of scottish football, but they were faced with a deputation from the sports desk claiming it would damage circulation.

Although perhaps that should read “damage circulation even further “.

Off the pitch, I couldn’t care less what they want to call their club, or believe its the same club. It’s their money.

However, the records and history of Scottish football require a certain degree of accuracy, and its abhorrent that this is being covered up, presumably to protect the brand.

Here’s a thought, however, and one wonders if Auldheid on twitter has hit upon something regarding a possible delay in the publishing of the compliance report, which is the subject of a petition to Celtic just now..sign it, by the way , if you haven’t already.

Petition

If same club they can be sanctioned for 2011 like no licence for 3 years if they cannot be sanctioned because not the same club there goes the 55. The SFA have created a mess for UEFA.

And one wonders what UEFa a) have been told about this mess, and b) what they have told those who told them…

Ladbrokes are the current league sponsor..presumably because we couldn’t get anybody else..

On 3 March, Ladbrokes threatened to withdraw sponsorship money from sporting events over proposed betting regulations. The government is consulting over new restrictions for the notoriously addictive fixed odds betting terminals. New legislation could see the minimum stake per bet reduced from £100 to £2.

Ladbrokes is a major sponsor in horse racing, and also a partner with the Scottish Premiership and the Rugby Football League Challenge Cup, spending a total of £8m a year. Its threat was greeted with anger from campaigners and social media users.

The “crack cocaine” of gambling

Fixed odds betting terminals, dubbed the “crack cocaine of gambling” by shadow culture secretary Tom Watson, give users automated access to casino games such as blackjack and roulette at up to three times the speed of a live game. The machines allow users to bet as much as £300 a minute, with a £100 limit on each bet. Figures from GambleAware show that 233,000 users lost more than £1,000 in a single sitting in 2016. An estimated 43% of users are at risk of becoming problem gamblers.

2015 report (pdf, p3) by the Responsible Gambling Trust found the majority of players of these machines tend to come from economically deprived areas, where the concentration of betting shops is often disproportionately high.

You can see why they were attracted to Scotish football, and indeed why Scottish football was attracted to them.

We’ll try to keep abreast of some of the more, er, staunch offerings in the media this week, and to begin with here’s Matthew Lindsay of the Evening Times, who is as staunch as they come..

Jason Cummings has the same X Factor as Leigh Griffiths – he’ll ensure Rangers are on song in the Old Firm game

Three fucking times I’ve read that, and it still doesn’t make any sense.

JASON Cummings has the X Factor that can give Rangers the edge in the Old Firm game

– in exactly the same way that Leigh Griffiths has ensured Celtic have been on song in the fixture in the past few years.

That was the prediction today from the youth coach who worked with both players, as well as a raft of other Scotland internationalists over the years, as they came through the ranks at Hutchison Vale.

Tam Smith, who has been involved with the renowned Edinburgh club for the last 32 years, was unsurprised to see famous alumni Cummings take full advantage of a rare first team start for Rangers at the weekend.

Famous Alumni ?

You can just hear the bears wondering what an alumni is, and if its in any way related to the catholic church.

“Here billy, its bad enough signing catholics but this wan’s a right catholic, he’s an alumni. ”

Smith, the Hutchison Vale coach, said;

“It’s great to see Jason doing so well,” he said. “He’s another free spirit. I think the pro-youth process wipes the smiles off a lot of kids’ faces. It suppresses their natural Scottishness.

He can’t get a regular start but is the guy who can win the game on Sunday.

It’s possible, but there is a hint of hype about this article.

Perhaps Lindsay saw this on twitter, and wants to believe. Its not the most accurate guide to player values I’ve ever seen, but its probably the most optimistic..

Its going to be a long week.

RALPH,

I finally cancelled my sub to 4-4-2 about 18 months ago,and quite pleasantly asked why,I pointed out that they had been sitting on the biggest scandal in World Football-they were informed by Auldheid, along with many others-and had recently taken to abusive captions about our team.

I’d previously called them, and advised them to desist, the Larson one was racist.

Anyway,I got called by them asking if I’d like to renew for two years, with only £1 for the first six months. Naw. Make it a year for a quid. Yes we can do that.

Thanks. I can’t. Look through my files and see why I left. Wouldnae give yeez a quid for a cup of tea.

It’s not just Scotland, mate. Auldheid has contacted umpteen outlets and journalists, and they won’t run with it.

Sickening.

Why has no one ever asked Lord Nimmo Smith about the evidence he was not given to help him with his review

Lord Nimmo was hired to do a review…if evidence was not presented to him then questions should be to the hiders not the reviewer. As if Lord Nimmo gives two flying ducks what DIDNT cross his desk way back when.

The horse bolted long ago and no weeping and wailing is gonna rectify the mistakes we, and i mean WE, made back then. Peter sat back and in negligence helped guide that clusterfuck through and to where they are now.

As for the Compliance Officer, for fucks sake when will we learn…WE MEAN FUCK ALL TO THEM….the Compliance office can pull up Neil Lennon within 24 hours and yet he cant give a report update after all this time…its buried, its dead, its never gonna see the light of day and a regime change will see it casually dismissed as no longer of interest.

Another example of Celtic failing to push on from a position of strength and no amount of hand wringing is gonna change anything. We have always known there is cheating, bias, dishonour. It has not changed and never will. Remember when we thought Celtic men getting on all the big committees would see change, how naive we were..its like Blairs Labour party coming into Government..Hope smitten

The Res.12 issue is a complete spiders web, its like a new James Bond movie, filled with lies, intrigue and deception. Titled “The Conflicted Ones” The same peepil are the main villain’s in the cast and the cast is big, it includes the “Rangers” the SFA the SPL the MSSM the National broadcaster, it might even include UEFA and lawyers.
But the villainous cast are the constant in this new movie, some of the cast appear in many different elements, like the “Rangers” the SFA
UEFA even. How do films usually end, they end with the hero being triumphant, lets hope that our hero’s are triumphant.

Mike, we all dream that it will be like “The Post” and somehow through some brave decent conscientious soul the truth is allowed to go free and everyone smiles in relief knowing a dark chapter is over and everyone can move on as one.

Sadly, these are very rare events, most truths are left hidden, paid off, discretely abandoned in pursuit of personal gain or privilege. No amount of dreaming will make them become a reality. When we have fuckers like Rod “5 Ways” Petrie laughing his “I’m gonna be next SFA President” head off at us then we really do only have ourselves to blame.

One of my many failings, being a dreamer, even at the age I am, you would wonder at why that would be, knowing many things are not what they seem to be.
You mentioned Blair and I read yesterday how he accepted £1 mill. for the labour party from Moseley the fascist, who hoped that would make him an M.P. But you know, I am proud that I am a dreamer even at my age, because the human spirit would be nothing, nothing if you did not have something to dream or to hope for. But you are right about Petrie et al at the governing bodies, peepil who will do anything for personal gain, no matter who they have to step on.

In turn you are correct, its the ONE out of a HUNDRED or so that reminds us all that the ONE exposed truth is correct way to be and not the 99 web of lies.

I just cant see anything bringing down the SFA and SPFL as they are so self centred they are happy to fuck over every thing holy and just in order to survive or increase profit margin…its like those minority Labour and Tory parties forming councils ganging up to fuck off the SNP and Greens..Fuck any idea of working together so everyone can move up and move on, lets just collude to keep us where we like to be and keep them in their place!

Was thinking about what you said last night and it occurred to me that when you govern it must be very difficult because whatever you do it is never enough.
If you do a great thing, you will get no thanks or appreciation. But if you do something that people perceive to be wrong, then they the opposition will go on and on about it. I suppose that it is the nature of the beast, its a dirty business and there can be no togetherness at all. For a long long time I’ve felt that some things should be removed from politics, like the NHS, Education, the road infrastructure, to have a long term plan for the good of everyone in the country. For me that is the only way that I can see some kind of progress because I believe that the Country is bigger perhaps than politics, for the good of all, just my opinion.

Makes you wonder why Lawwell came off the SFA committees and went onto the UEFA game board. Another point is WHY is there no Celtic representatives on ANY SFA committees. To have no-one representing Celtic in the Scottish game seems strange to me, are they afraid they might become even more complicit by being associated with the peepul on the past and present committees.

Mentioned this a few times over the years, the ONLY place you will beat sevco rangers is ON the park, this is where maximum damage can be inflicted on them.
Celtic need to ensure we are always maximising income through Champions league participation and doing deals like Wanyama, Forster, Van Dijk & Dembele, this allows us to keep well ahead of the pack and should result in domestic dominance.

The fix is in, they can run up debts of £140m, they can illegally register players, they move their men into office at Hampden, they have their referees, their police and…need i go on?

Beating them on the park is what matters, it’s what hurts them the most…..they know they have their friends in high places, but this matters little if success ON the field isn’t happening.

Even in liquidation & death….they are portrayed to be the same club with full honours attached, the SPFL perpetuate this, the SFA perpetuate this , they in 2018 are ALLOWED to sing banned racist & cleary sectarian singing, without comment.
When Regan spoke of THOTHIAL UNRETHT if there was no ” rangerth ” in the top flight, the gates at Celtic Park should have been locked up, right there, right then.
What we have is a corrupt, complicit governing body who did not & does not apply their own rule book to one particular club, they allow this club to do anything it wishes as long as there is a form of ” rangerth “, that is why the game is completely fucked!
INTIMIDATION is what the Huns do, if the rule book is applied to that club, the bombs, the threats, the bullets will be posted, it’s what they do!

So that’s the fucking facts of it, no one will apply the rulebook or bring them to task because of what will follow! lock the gates and throw away the key!

One question on liquidation tho….if liquidation ISN’T the end…why did Dunfermline Athletic & Hearts fight so hard to avoid it?

It’s time to bring the game to it’s knees…..CELTIC MUST TENDER IT’S RESIGNATION!

FUCK THE SFA!

I was astonished that JOHNJAMESSITE put something out yesterday that was common knowledge for years. But seemingly not.

This club is a cancer. It’s followers are a lasting shame wherever they go. They bully by their size, yet they are minnows on a spreadsheet.

There are no Celtic men on SFA committees because We don’t get voted on. Sad to see the biggest club in the country has little support either in elections nor in proposals. We only have one vote and we get no support from other clubs.

The compliance officer won’t put out any report before the end of the month ( if at all) in case it interferes with sevcos European licence application. Look out for plenty of untruths in these and if they are awarded a licence will any Scottish clubs complain. The wee Gers certainly didn’t want to ROCK the boat last year.

Same club, new club……who cares? What is really important here is not whether “Rangers” and Rangers are distinct entities(they clearly are!), it is the attitude of their supporters, their business philosophy, the attitude of the SFA/SPFL, and the media towards them.
Rangers are dead, but the bile of its supporters finds an outlet in “Rangers”, and will do again in the next version of the disease. The business philosophy is the same….rack up debt to acquire resources they cannot afford; lie to the support, use the courts to delay reality. The attitude of the SFA/SPFL is the same……bend the rules to give them what they want/need to survive(e.g. they did not qualify for a Euro licence last season). The compliance/acceptance of the media is the same. There should have been at least one public inquiry into why Rangers went burst.
Oh, and I forgot the attitude of the MIB towards the new club…….see the foul count/bookings in the recent “Rangers” vs STJ and Celtic vs STJ games. It is the same once again!
They are the same club alright and that IS the problem.

Rebus

Mike

Its sort of funny in a way, the way that some ex real “Rangers” men were bemoaning the fact that the Oldco were toast, gone, buried, forgotton. The same with the Hun papers with pictures of burial caskets, hearses and the R.I.P. signatures. Even the peepil who started the Newco said that it was a new club. How daft is that, it makes you wonder if they have tried to set fire to their archives. The problem with that is the Celtic sites repeatedly showing the “Death” notices, caricaturing the Revelation that they did not liquidate. We know what happened, they know it happened, the governing bodies knew the truth, how sad is that, to acknowledge the truth and then to lie about the truth, just like how Judas Iscariot betrayed Christ, they have betrayed Scottish football.

Dont know about the rest on here. But it is depressing that we continue to be the only fans apart from a small minority that want to see a just and fair governing body.
It is us v them. Thats what is depressing. The rest dont give a fuck.
We continue to demand answers from the sfa and their corrupt organisation yet will flock to hampden on semi final and final day.
I took the step to come out of the home game ticket scheme,i will not set foot in hampden again. Yet the GB and our fans will flock to see us play a team we do not recognise as the same team prior to 2012.
If we as fans do not step upto the plate, then all the jelly and ice cream all the talk on forums such as this is pointless.
To beat them on the pitch is great, but who is it we are beating. Is it sevco is it Rangeruzzzz.
To me the only ones who can bring it all to its conclusion is us the fans.
We either continue to go to games and move on, or we now take the step starting with the semi final and dont buy tickets or if we do walk out after the kick off or dont go in at all which the world media could not ignore.
So im sorry Ralph, you all deserve our great thanks for your work on res12 its been a valient effort to which you should all be proud, but without a boycott of the national stadium the home of the corruption then there will be no end game there will be no justice and our game will be fucked.
SDM along with the bank tried to bury us, we would not be here today as Celtic. Remember that, and remember that words are not enough, only action by the same supporters who saved our club, can kill off and bury rangers 1872.
Ourselves Alone, TAL!

While I think indignation is entirely appropriate, I think the whole of Scottish football outside the Sevco shambles will need to get on board. The ourselves alone approach will turn it into a Celtic V “rangers” issue for the press and we know how that will turn out off the field. I believe LNS to be true to himself and avoid a legacy of being part of a whitewash based on falsehoods, has a moral imperative to reopen his review. The Celtic Board as do the Boards of all Scottish Clubs have a moral imperative to uncover illegal and unfair practices that gave the old club an advantage for so long. I am concerned that we avoid the end of Celtic as a club by forcing an us or them scenario. It would be ironic to be ideologically pure and end up with no Celtic in an effort to precipitate justice on our own. Of course I really believe that underlying the lack of action and reporting is pure fear! bullets in the post, threats, the general unstated yet very much implied threats of retribution. Lets be very candid I think fear for life and limb prevents many from speaking out and those who have little fear of that support the whole myth anyway.

Maybe a bit if demonstrative action outside CP would soon wake them from their catatonia over this whole episode. Liewell and co are quite happy as long as the bucks roll in, sadly we live in a world that only cares about having money and other commodities even if it means not giving one fuck who get ran over roughshod in this process. I’m still firmly in the camp that believes this runs to the very top in the financial circles in the UK and also within the Scottish Government. It seems that if you’re a lying, cheating, conniving thieving bastard in this world you’re sorted, as for decent folk, no one gives a fuck.

For Sunday ‘s match forget the tippy tappy pish played out from the back and go route one to our two big forwards and the midfield moving up to back them. Play the game in the sevco half.

I agree. Push them that far back that they’ll be in amongst the fascist praising vermin that belts out songs of hate at every game.

Had a homer this morn and the nice young woman let me in to do the job, before she went out she told me to help myself to tea and if I wanted to play music on her Amazon playlist, which I duly did. I put on the Pogues album Rum, Sodomy and the Lash. So I got stuck in, around 12.30 I hear the door opening and a beard appeared at the living room door, the boyfriend. His face was like thunder and was clearly unhappy at my choice of music. I could hear him on the phone to his wife asking what time I was finishing at and in total hun mode. He never once came back into the space I was painting, nor exchanged a word with me and the other fella with me. After having a real shitey few days, this hun going mental, but feart to say anything about my music choice playing in his flat certainly cheered me up. The peepul are right off their heads at times, being a wank just because I had music on that he probably hated.

Interesting to hear Brendan describe the first half against Morton as “disappointing”. It was worse than that. They were missing six first team, had only six subs and the striker aged 17 has only played seven games this season. Sinclair was poor and Dembele anonymous with no thought or creativity to break them down. I thought Eduoard the wrong sub, especially in his early weak efforts but he let others play and made some running. Dembelele, arse duly booted, responded better. They brought plenty of fans but I detected a Hunnish element I didn’t know they had. Just a last word…Brendan also said that we were unable to train due to the weather. I believe the training ground was clear but you couldn’t get into Lennoxtown due to the snow ! This, and the covered half pitch indoors ( Tommy Burns wanted a full pitch) surely needs to be rectified. What if we had a European or league game? Our next signing should be a JCB.

Sinclair would be in my starting 11 on Sunday.
He is much better than edouard and has proven himself against them in the past. He is still to get going this season but apart from Broony and tierney they all have.
De Vries is a huge worry for me but he will start.
I think Brendan will play his trusted 4231.With Tierney going to right back and Compper left back.
De Vries
Tierney Ajer Jozo Compper
Broony Ntcham
Forrest McGregor Sinclair
Dembele
Rogic, Paddy, Charley, Edouard, Kouassi on the bench.

BREAKING NEWS:

Celtic FC have put forward an entreaty to enter a company into the Chinese Super League.

Peter Lawwell has been quoted;
“All supporter buses making their way to China in the near future are to make sure that all empty cans are to be kept at the back of the bus.Thank you.”

I absolutely get Desimond & others view that the Res 12 boat has already sunk so what’s the point re-arranging the deck chairs. However, I’m of the view that even another futile attempt to raise the issue or complain to Celtic about the lack of real action from their end, looking back in anger at what’s gone down, is still better than moving on in silence. Anyway, I find a good rant is therapeutic (hence the fact the top comment on the he petition is from yours truly 🙂

My team for Sunday….4..3…3. To start with.

Devries through necessity.

Hendry, Sumo. Ajer, K.T.

Broony, McGregor, Ntcham.

Forrest, Dembelle, Sinclair.

McGregor the link from the midfield to the forwards. If it wasn’t for Devries I would have gone with three at the back.
