Celtic Diary Friday July 28: Every New Wrong Makes Us Stronger

So, the SPFL have decided that no one really did anything really bad, or at least decided that was what they should tell us, and wheeled out another one of those lawyers who seem to be on twenty four hour call to back up what they wanted us to believe.

Doncaster has taken legal advice…

Image result for saul goodman quotes

What they told us was right up there with what our parents told us about tooth fairies, Santa Claus and where the dog had really gone after he started to wobble a bit and bump into things.

To be a good liar though, you really have to believe what you are trying to make others believe.

Image result for saul goodman quotes

Neil Doncaster, as he stumbled and stuttered his way through a recent interview, isn’t a good liar.

One decent round of direct questioning and that guy will fall apart, plunge to the floor and begin crying about how it wasn’t his fault, and how a big boy did it and ran away.

He’s offered to debate the issues he has spoken of with anyone who wants to debate them, amidst a refreshing new wave of transparency and honesty that only seemed to occur to him as a workable policy after he got caught not being transparent and honest.

I’m in Glasgow next Friday. Trains already booked.

I can squeeze him in in the morning.

I’ve got a few questions for him, and he needn’t worry about us not thinking of anything to talk about.

He could maybe ask his buddy Stewart to sit in.

Image result for saul goodman quotes

Realistically, though, where do we go from here ?

Doncaster is no more likely to answer my questions than any of our esteemed journalists are likely to ask him any.

Real questions that is. The ones that are demanding answers.

He also seems very reluctant to quit his job, presumably because there’s little chance of anyone being daft enough to hire him afterwards. He’s going to sit tight and wait for the Hampden mafia to sort him a job aboard the UEFA gravy train, which is where most of our incompetents end up.

With Doncaster clinging on to his job despite proving he’s not very good at it, the time has come to make a choice.

Either we force him-and his colleagues- out, or we go play someplace else.

Thats how simple it is.

The present situation, where the governing body has shown itself to be impotent where even enforcing its own rules are concerned, is unacceptable.

Change is needed, and the only group who can force that change are the supporters.

All supporters.

Of all clubs.

Including those who go to Ibrox every two weeks.

If only to protect them from the vultures who ripped their club apart and then asked them for the money to put it back together again.

Image result for saul goodman quotes

Club chairpersons are reluctant to address the issues that are now threatening to finally destroy the game north of the border.

Instead, they will close their doors and hope the storm has died down by the time they come out.

Its down to the supporters.

They must petition their own clubs for change.

As for Celtic fans, we must not allow the media to continue their narrative of this being a Celtic and Rangers issue.

Its not, it never was and we must make sure it never will be.

This is about the SPFL, its about the SFA, and its about them not being fit for purpose.

We’re paying for it.

We need to change that first of all.

Celtic have yet to publicly state their intentions.

Thats a good thing.

Knee jerk reactions are often the wrong reactions, taken in the heat of the moment.

All possible moves and all possible scenarios must be considered.

From boycotts to resigning from the league.

Image result for saul goodman quotes

But I do have a few suggestions.

Start with boycotts.

That may seem like a knee jerk reaction, but in fact its now the only possible way forward.

Petitions haven’t worked, criticism hasn’t worked. Time to step it up.

All cup games, all away games.

It won’t take long to get the message across.

Add to that a boycott of newspapers and other related media, a refusal to do business with league and SFA sponsors, and suddenly we are dealing from a position of strength, which is the only way to do any deal.

We need them to know we are serious, and the only way we can “move on ” is without any of those who want us to “move on “.

They had their chance to come clean and make a fresh start.

We might have even to find it within our hearts to forgive them had they admitted they got it wrong, ut tried to put it right.

It’s too late for that now.

They had their chance, and instead they have tried to cover up what they failed to do, and expect us to accept that and collectively shrug our shoulders and forget all about it.

Thats not going to happen.

Every time they hit us with a new wrong, we get stronger.

The resolve to seek justice becomes more powerful, more encompassing.

They need to go.

And they know why.

All of them.

Now.

Or we make plans to get out of Dodge.

where exactly do we go to?

I was not aware of a particular enthusiasm to embrace Celtic into any neighbouring league set-up, or will we simply become a football equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters; endless exhibition matches, what fun.

As long as we get invited to the closed doors “Champions League”. Quite frankly we could make more money from a friendly against quality opposition than we would playing Ross County.

I suggested a few year ago when we were globetrotting pre Season that we should host our own tournaments instead of a pre Season invite the likes of Barca Liverpool Madrid Man Utd Feynord etc use it as a worthwhile pre season.
Would be sell out crowds and possibly TV interest as well from the likes of BT

Agree totally, as much as it might feel that by boycotting away games your letting the Celtic team down, your not, it’s the SFA/SPFL who are letting the Celtic team down, and have been for near on 2 decade’s. When the games are on Sky and BT and the camera pans on to row after row after row of empty seats, then the commentators will have to explain why, now as much as they’ll try bullshit their way around around the real reason’s it will still all be there fie everyone ta see. Every single Chairman/woman of every club who a willing to accept this horseshit that the SFA/SPFL are trying to feed us, are soon going to realise just how much the Celtic support carries their club’s financialy, hopefully then their own support will wake up and smell the pies, and protest to their own Chairman that their not accepting anything less than true justice. Scottish football needs cleansing of the law maker’s and law breaker’s at Hampdump, and it will be the fans that will help orchestrate that…KTF

We ditch the SPL and SFA. Set up an independent league and cup structure. Advise UEFA/FIFA we’re the only game in town. Deal with us or not. Given their attitude to us (league champions and still having to pre qualify, the blind eye given to the current fiasco) would we really miss their dictate? I’d venture there are parties out there (Holland, Scandinavia, Portugal etc) who would gladly scrap the current set up and join a Fifa/UEFA free football body.

I think we should look into resurrection of the idea of setting up a League with Scandinavian and Celtic Clubs.
Look to go down the Summer football route with these Nations and capitalise on TV revenues as other Leagues shut down over the Summer months.
The gap between the top 5 Leagues is widening year on year and it is becoming harder for teams within other Leagues to get anywhere.
Fairly certain Scandinavian Clubs will be interested if there is more financial reward in it.
Sure it’s not Zadok the priest inspired moneyball but l think on a competitive level it could be just as rewarding as getting pumped by Everton or Shalke?
Thing is if Celtic were to take the steps into looking at that then l think blind panic would set in among the charlatans on our Clubs boards.

Translated

Talks involving clubs such as Ajax, PSV, Celtic, Rangers and Anderlecht could see the formation of a multinational league in the future, an FC Copenhagen director has revealed.

FC Copenhagen director Anders Horsholt on Thursday told a Danish tabloid that the club was in talks with major teams from Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Belgium and Scotland over forming a new multinational league.

“If we don’t act now we will see the biggest clubs grow larger and stronger while it will be increasingly difficult for clubs like us,” he told daily BT.

“Alternative international opportunities”
Horsholt said he was “actively participating” in talks on “alternative international opportunities”, but added that it was “still too early to talk about concrete models.”

The new project could eventually lead to the clubs involved having to leave their national leagues, he said.

Ajax, PSV, Celtic, Ranger could form part of breakaway
In addition to Denmark, clubs from the Netherlands (Ajax, PSV Eindhoven, Feyenoord), Belgium (Anderlecht, Club Brugge), Scotland (Celtic, Rangers), Sweden (Malmo FF) and Norway (Rosenborg) were involved in the talks, according to BT.

Denmark’s Brondby said it was not taking part in the talks but that it had received some information about them and that it was “not surprised that alternatives are being discussed.”

Malmo FF sporting director Daniel Andersson told the Malmo24 website that he did not want to comment on the report, but added that “there are many projects afoot. … You don’t know what the future looks like.”

Champions League changes a “scandal”
Changes to the format of the Champions League are a “scandal” and could spark a revolt among small and mid-size leagues, the head of the European Professional Football Leagues (EPFL) said on September 22.

“Why is UEFA capitulating to the big clubs? It’s a scandal,” Lars-Christer Olsson, a Swede who heads the association of 25 European leagues, told the Swedish football league website.

UEFA said in August that England, Spain, Italy and Germany would each be guaranteed four berths for their clubs in the tournament between 2018 and 2021

Ralph, I contacted the FOI department re the governance of Scottish Fitba. with regards to the liquidation of “Rangers” and the SFA/SFPL handling of same, of course they said that the bodies were not covered by the FOI act, but that we could contact HMRC who are covered by the act, through another commissioner, the HMRC contact is Mr. Mike Potter the digital and info. officer.
They also suggested that we contact the Scottish Government FOI unit at St. Andrews House in Edinburgh to try to get the SFA/SFPL covered by the act. there bye insuring future openness and transparency.

Mike, well done mate for actually taking the time to do something positive. The FOI would certainly be a route worth following; I’m not sure but the BBC may be subject to it and Companies House who have been used widely in the creation of all the scamming.
Regardless, THIS IS NOT GOING AWAY and all the culprits need to know this; THEY can’t do any more, but WE can.
Anyway, it seems to me that we need a database of actions taken and to take; there’ll already have been great ideas posted and forgotten. We need every piece of strategic ammunition possible to prosecute this case and all the scumbags involved, regardless of ANY affiliation.

If we approach the Scottish Governments own FOI department and request that in future the SFA/SPFL have to reveal whats going on behind the scenes with respect to fitba. governance, then the secret shit of 5 way agreements et al will come to a halt. I will fully concur with every effort to gain justice for the cheating years but then we must ensure that it does cannot happen again!!

In my view, 1st things 1st. (The rest will surely follow)
Force the SFA/SPFL to apply their own rules regarding illegally registered players; a 0-3 loss for EVERY game. Apply this and alter the position of any club who’s fallen foul of those rules. This is what they’ve fraudulently refused to do.
(Some, ill-informed, people refer to this as title-stripping; avoid this term at all costs. It’s too emotive and let’s a certain shower try the ‘victim’ card.)
SFA/SPFL (previously SPL) note this:
WE DEMAND THAT YOU APPLY YOUR OWN RULES NOW, but don’t let this confuse you into thinking that’s enough; as long as there’s air in my system and I can move and think freely, SCUM like yourselves will always be in my sights.

I’ve checked and can confirm both the BBC and Companies House are subject to the FOI Act.
Apparently it costs the BBC a lot of money and prior to contacting them under FOI you should check if previous FOI requests (and responses) cover what you want to know.
Doncaster, Regan et al, start checking “Situations Vacant”.
WE’VE had more than enough; YOU’RE FINISHED. Tick, Tock…..

1st step must be the coming together of ALL fans from all sites and to have a central, strategic, achievable goal. UNIFICATION IS PARAMOUNT.

How many people on here go to away games, cup games, Scotland games?

I’d guess a tiny percentage (I don’t) so it’s easy to ask others to make a sacrifice when it’s not you.

Also we’ve yet to see the board play their hand but if they simply fold are we simply going to attack every other club?

Finally nothing meaningful has happened in 5 years so to suggest that people are going to press the nuclear option is fanciful.

With respect, Ralph, you indicate that this is not a Celtic v Rangers thing – I agree with this but then you suggest a boycott of away grounds – to what end? If we are leading this we need to win hearts and minds first and foremost. I would suggest the complete opposite – we attend away matches (and home matches obviously) in record numbers and we send a clear message to the fans of these other clubs that they have been cheated for those years – in particular the clubs who were cheated out of trophies. Songs and banners clearly stating why they have been cheated, by whom (SPFL and SFA) and how.
I think a lot of other clubs fans have no idea or at least interest in what has happened in our game over the last 15 years – this is an opportunity for us as a fan-base to show that old “two cheeks of the same arse” bullshit is gone forever (if it was ever actually there in the first place) It is an opportunity for fans to be educated about the mismanagement, collusion and corruption within our game. A message from both sets of fans at every ground in the country sends a very powerful message and would force the hand of the governing bodies.
The title stripping is almost a secondary issue now – the victory should be measured in the change of governance within the game. It would have been nice and certainly warranted, however the bigger battle lies ahead and with that there is a greater chance of victory if fans of all clubs – including Rangers – are on board.
The SFA and SPFL have repeatedly shown they are not fit for purpose. For the good of our game there must be a complete root and branch change of governance. We have become a backwater league under the guidance of Doncaster and Regan and their whole mismanagement of the Rangers financial debacle has left us a laughing stock. The time is right for change.

There are many valid points made, but The Celtic Football Club As a business must urgently look for alternatives. Playing various rounds to achieve UCL is not a guarantee every season.
The board has to seriously look at alternatives as the current SPFL/SFA arrangement is clearly corrupt.
The club ha splayed within the so called rules and been cheated by the establishment that justify heating by the Old Co,the benefits now are they are screwed, nae monies, nae cheating, as they head for another wee exercise in
Iquidation. I would strip the titles, but the establishment will do everything to stop that.
Therefore we have to consider alternatives within Europe and get away from these Cretans.

Who say’s that they will not ask to pay there share of the fine, will those who were responsible for the banner also pay the fine. Answer no, just like the other £150 thousand pounds of fines accumulated. imo the ones responsible should pay the fines, after all that’s what happens in other walks of life.

Brendan Rodgmemrs has every right to comment on the actions of his own Support after all it is they who produced the banners with his image on them.
Images which he took personal offence from.
You seem to be missing the point about the GB here the Club has repeatedly asked them to stop doing these things and has bent over backwards to accommodate the GB giving them a special section in the Ground that no other fan enjoys in the UK currently.
The issue here is the continued mentality of some within that Section that they can and will do as they please on the basis they have a divine right to do so as paying customers?
Well they don’t.
The
Club having ran out of patience have exercised their right to put a stop to it.
What other Clubs say or do is a matter for the Authorities and people who run and control the game.
We need to make sure our own house is in order BEFORE highlighting the state of others.
The fact we have been fined 12 times in 6 years in Europe tells us that is something that needed addressing.

The half year revenue was over £60m and whilst the 2nd half will be substantially less (no European income etc) you’d expect the 2013 revenue to be beaten.

I think it will top any of the previous high figures sure enough possibly into the high 80s depending on whether we punt Dembele or Armstrong in this window?
What will be interesting is the running costs and final profit figures.
Our domestic environment is severely limiting our scope for making major profit even with CL income.
That £13m loan must be at the forefront of their minds as 2019 is not too far off now.
Chances are they will most likely replace it with another and continue to whittle it down.
Those bonuses must be fined after all 😉

The year finished at the end of June so any sales will be part of next year’s figures.

I think we topped £80m once but at the low end so should comfortably top that.

Agreed about the loan, there’s no point simply paying it off if the money can be spent better elsewhere.

I believe it’s on very favourable terms so hopefully can get something similar.

Celtic ‘can’t have three top strikers’ Brendan Rodgers

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/scotland/40754536

We were discussing this yesterday and I was wondering given our serious pursuit of Henry Onyekuru in January has Brendan changed his mind or at that stage was he preparing to punt either Griffiths or Dembele?

He’s now been signed by Everton for £7m but they’ve loaned him to Anderlecht, which seems strange as they’ve flogged Lukaku.

So all these other clubs would agree to a new league because we are pissed off . Oh wait Celtic are being ripped off let’s start a new league up and leave our own for no good reason

The times they are a changing, do you honestly think that UEFA and FIFA will be the dominant force in World Foorball. Look at what’s happening on the Pacific rim, the money on offer.
The current UCL format probably has another ten years at the outside to survive.
The European clubs will look too new markets for more cash to compete with the Far East.
Probably a new European League format.
This will leave countries outwith the big four national leagues looking at alternatives, but the status quo is not the future.
Celtic as a football club with a global interest will survive and prosper in this environment, unlike others that will die on the vine.
Nothing is for ever and the world media will dramatically change football or soccer as some know it.

Interesting thoughts and although I can see more and more Far East and other money pouring into English and other major European leagues, I don’t envisage the meaningful action taking place elsewhere other than glorified exhibitions.

The times might be changing, but they will not change for many a year,
even in the EPL there are just 33% of English players, the rest are foreign. They account for £1.7 billion pounds of the EPL budget, no wonder they are saying that its not sustainable.
The Chinese leagues have been instructed to clear there debt.
Its just a matter of bringing pressure to bear on Regan and Doncaster and then getting them booted out, followed by an open game.

Always thought if we can’t have our independence then why can’t we have a British league. All clubs incorporated and graded to the standard ie Celtic and Huns in premier Aberdeen hearts and hibs in the championship Dundee etc in league one and so on. That’s just as daft as every other thing being bandied around

Honesty and integrity, on the flair,
issuing soundbites designed to scare,
lies and deflections hard to bare.

Regan and Doncaster those full on cheats,
That despicable duo occupying the Hampden suites,

It is’nt suprising this has been going on for years and years, the only difference is that now we can prove it. The day that the bunnett waved goodbye, you could hear the cheers ring out in Hampden.
He was’nt popular with everyone but i have absolutely no doubt that he would have ate Regan and Doncaster for breakfast. They would be gone by now.

I think about the seriousness of current (football) affairs, and all stemming from one poisonous “club”….
It goes back two decades, and that’s only what we know.

I see, daily, great ideas disappear as one half-wit tries to outdo another with the most trivial pish imagineable.
I see plagiarism; the act of trying to take credit for another’s ideas. This, instead of using that time to DO SOMETHING POSITIVE….WTF is really going on?
I’m sick of Ralph’s incredible efforts going down the fucking pan due to his ‘audience’ acting like stupid, 14 years old kids.
There IS a solution……
FFS, at least Progres towards it.
The SFA/SPFL are completely fucked….they’ve shot all their bolts……don’t let your own pettiness piss off genuine people who WILL enforcce change, and historical change too.
Unite, it’s a fucking walk-over.
Allow ourselves to be divided and we encourage all the over-paid spivs and con-artists to, not only survive, but to thrive.
FFS, waken up. Join together, and smash all the fucking scum into oblivion; yeah, to join the one and only, the dead rangers.

That was the problem l think red he was trying too hard and running about like a headless chicken at times?
He has the ability no doubt just needs to calm down and let that part of his game shine.
I think this lone spell will help him do that and we will have an improved player coming back in.
We have Armstrong Rogic Ntcham who can all play his role.
Also Lindsay who’s at Ross County on loan.

Since the huns went into Admin on 14th February 2012, I looked for, and craved, justice. Nothing more.
I may, internally, have craved another Valentine’s Day massacre, but Truth was always enough for me.
The APPLICATION OF RULES by the (now totally discredited) footballing ‘authorities’, namely the SFA, SPL and (now) SPFL.
However, the application of their own ‘Rules’ was a bridge too far for them. Anyway, my point is this:
On this wonderful site the trivialising of the huns’ cheating, i.e. to try to be funnier than another when the subject matter is of paramount importance, speaks volumes. I’ll continue to try to get all the scum out of Scottish football, but unless ETims gets its act together on this, I, for one, am off. FANtastic site, run incredibly well and now being let down by trivia-minded morons.
ETims is better than this; deserves far more.
What about its fans doing something useful instead of all the school-kid crap??
HH
PS I’ve let myself down on here at times – no doubt about it. On balance, I also try to do all sorts to further the Celtic Cause and to highlight the cheating of Masonic Scotland in all its forms. Orangeism should not even exist in this 21st century, but it does. I’ll do anything and everything I can to hasten its belated death; just like its favourite football ‘club’ which died in 2012.
On another key;
#’So-o-ldiers are we……’# (FFS sit doon Charlie S, it’s no’ wan ae yon sodgers tunes that you know)
Hup, 2, 3, 4…..’Hathi’, “in a military style” 🙂

Was Nadir Ciftci named in the European squad for this season?
If he was, surely he could be asked to go out and perform for 90 minutes and do himself and the club a turn?

Reply to  Monti

He wasn’t not even as a reserve.
This was one of my concerns about the Rosenborg game the fac we had 7 midfielders in the squad and no Strikers?
I think that’s poor planning on the management side.
Surely either Ciftci or the likes of Aitchison should have been in there Just in case?

Brought this up a few times over the past few years and l think it’s time to think about this again as a last resort should the Board fail to hold the SFA and the SPFL to account over the Cheating debacle.
If the Board fail to act as the vast majority who follow Celtic seem to see fit then l think the best option would be for us as a fan base to take control of the Club.
We have the numbers if the Club are to be believed and l think this corruption could well be the thing that would galvanise the fan base and give i the appetite to do so?
TheClubs stock is ata real high at the moment so it would cost somewhere in the region of £135m to own it outright.
If you go off a fan base of around 5 million (very safe estimate figure supposedly nearer to 9m) that would equate to each fan putting up £27 each.
Once that was achieved we could then look at meeting the SFA and SPFL head on in Court and finance it indefinitely until satisfaction was achieved.
No need for boycotts or damaging our own aspirations on the park as a result.
Hire the best legal guys available and cleanse our game of these parasites once and for all.
Yer man Dermot said he would only everpart with his shares if the right guy came forward with a viable acceptable plan to take the Club forward.
Well who better than those with the COLLECTIVE will and finances not too mention numbers?
Then every year after we all agree to make a £20 payment to safeguard the future of theClub.
Call it a fighting fund if you like.
The interest alone on that would do great work via the Foundation.
Pie in the sky?
WE HAVE THE NUMBERS
Doing fuck is no longer an option and if our Board fail to do anything (let’s give them till January) then l think it’s probably the best option.
Take control then tear these fuckers (SFA) a new one.

The lack of interest/support for this, on this site, is truly stunning. I can only hope your comment has somehow been missed.

RALPH, is there any chance of you just asking the question to see what interest there is? We ‘only’ need to aim for control initially, i.e. 51% of issued shares. Today, in money terms, that would be around £48 million, call it £50 million.
Given the size of our global support, it’s not out of the question.
