Celtic Diary Wednesday April 26: A Request To Stewart Regan

We’ll get to that in a moment, but with another game against “rangers ” looming on Saturday, there’s been all sorts of kerfuffle in the build up.

Apparently, the Ibrox side are under pressure not to bestow a guard of honour on the champions as the Celts walk out onto the pitch pre kick off. It seems the supporters are going to walk out if they do, a whole hour before they usually do.

Strange that, as they are usually big on custom and tradition. And sportsmanship is their second name..

Retweeted

James Tavernier Retweeted Rangers FC

Great respect to for the guard of honour today!! 👏🏽👊🏽 True sportsmanship unlike some!!

James Tavernier added,

For those of you unsure who James Tavernier is, he’s the man tipped early in his career to play for England, but he threw all that away to play football.

However, there was some good news for Ibrox fans, with firstly a message from a national radio station..

and secondly, not only do they have the best squad in Scotland…

its going to be strengthened even further with a morale boosting new contract for Kenny Miller, which could take the veteran striker onto the third version of the club when it comes out later in the year.

We asked Miller for his thoughts on securing his future, but it was time for his nap.

They’ve not got a lot going for them at the moment, but there are perhaps the green shoots of recovery if you analyse the stats from sundays humiliation at the hands of Celtic. something we missed, and frankly, something that any half decent coach can work with and begin to improve the team.

We shouldn’t take them lightly on Saturday.

On a serious note, that simple fact above shows that Celtic came out of the blocks the way we wanted them to, and didn’t give their opponents time to settle. The early fouls are an indication of how quickly “rangers” realised just how far they were out of their depth.

Patrick Roberts, in particular, proved too much for them to handle, and as a result, found himself on the end of a couple of meaty tackles.

Image result for frankie howerd

Roberts said;

I have looked back at the Andy Halliday tackle.

Broony did that against Ross County and he got sent off. Does it give me hope that he will win his appeal?

Yeah. If that’s only a yellow, why was Scott’s a red card?

Was it down to the reaction of the Ross County players on that day? I don’t want to say too much, but it was a bad tackle, a terrible tackle, and thankfully I didn’t get hurt.

It was a shocker, as were a couple of others, yet the red card stayed tucked away in the referees shirt pocket. For al the praise Collum received, which was largely down to not making a complete arse of things, it should be noted that yet again, Celtic players were not protected by a referee.

The referee for Saturday is John Beaton, so it might be an idea to have the air ambulance on standby.

Moussa Dembele has been ruled out for the rest of the season, which gives him time for a wee rest before he either moves on or begins his second champions league campaign.

Scott Sinclair, who missed the League Cup final, sympathised;

“We were hoping that it wouldn’t be too bad and that Moussa would make it to get back for Hampden next month.

“I know exactly what he is going through. I had to miss the League Cup Final and I was really hoping for him that he would be back in a couple of weeks.

“It is tough. On a personal level, it is difficult to sit out big games like that and I knew if it came back, and it was a bad one, he would be gutted.”
“It is not just about the 11 guys who are in the starting line-up. It is about the whole squad and I think you can see the togetherness that we have.

“Whoever steps on that field gives 100 per cent for each other and I think that is reflected in the way we have been able to come back in games at times.“Leigh Griffiths is a proven goalscorer and he will be ready to hit the ground running at Ibrox this weekend.”

With only a few games left, Leigh Griffiths may struggle to regain his top scorer crown, but he’ll give it a go.

Probably have to take penalties as well though.

The trial of Craig Whyte continues at the high Court in Glasgow, though you wouldn;t know it if you were relying on the media to keep you informed of developments.

James Doleman-and you really have to appreciate the work he’s putting in to make sure the facts aren’t distorted- has put together a wee slide show of the main issues to arise yesterday for those who don;t use twitter, whereas those who do should be following him anyway..

Day 4

I’m no expert on these matters, but there do seem to be a few items that Stewart Regan , Andrew Dickson and a few others who were involved at the SFA in 2011 need to clarify, just so we know that they are not the incompetent cheating bastards we are beginning to feel that they may be.

We’ve been here before, and this is still live. Time to recirculate..

petition-link

Personally, I reckon that Whyte should get his pound back and Murray should get his club-and all the bills back.

Though I’m not sure if i could take another five years of endless laughter, though I doubt even the Scottish media couldn’t spin their web of lies a second time.

In all seriousness, the statements of former Ibrox financial director Donald McIntyre seem to suggest that the “wee tax bill ” had indeed crystallised, and it was a bill.

Not a disputed payment, but an overdue payable, which if correct, means that Rangers should not have been granted a licence in 2011.

We now need to either get an explanation from the SFA, or demand en masse resignation.

Or both.

Either that or more direct action will be forthcoming.

Disconcertingly, the silence from the lamb eaters is also evidence that they may have known a little more than they let on at the time, which frankly means the game is a bogey.

If thats the case, all clubs should resign from the league and set up their own competition outwith the SFA/SPFL.

Like they did in England when the top clubs broke away and formed the Premier League.

But lets give Regan a chance to explain himself first.

Again.

Only this time we’d like the truth.

Attention Celtic fans following orders have been issued. You are to say, please memorise, to every person you know who is even vaguely interested in football:” Fair do to Rangets ( I know that will stick on a number of levels but you have a job to do ) fair do to Rangers giving Celtic a guard of honour for winning 6 in a row.”
Those who say I didnt see that on TV; ” well you know Sky…” if it is said often enough for long enough in 2 or 3 years a lot of people will remember being told it, they won’t remember the match and it will get established in Scottish football folklore, go for it.

There is no way that Regan and his “accomplices” can survive this.
The evidence given yesterday, under oath, clearly proved that Regan’s former defence of their decision was a lie.
Will he jump…??
Or will he be pushed?
The fact that he has remained in Office is a classic example of how this bigoted wee country operates.
Nothing to see here Timmy…move along now.
Well..hopefully this is the beginning of the end for this corrupt body of bastards.

The LNS conclusion MUST be challenged, because today in court Minty confirmed that EBT WERE used to give sporting advantage, meaning that for every £10 mill. that Celtic spent, they could only require to spend £8. million. The case is now rock solid, it was said in court under oath.
Yesterday Willie Henderson was suggesting that ” Rangers” would need to spend £50.00 Million to catch Celtic, do these dafties never learn?

When will those clowns learn to spend within their means, will there peepul mentality ever allow them to do just that, if you don’t have it, then do not spend it, its called prudent management, living within your means. Get a grip.

I think conclusions on Regan are being drawn too quickly here. If he was not told about the Nov 2010 and the May 2011 letters from HMRC, then that is his defence. The correspondence between the SFA and Rangers is crucial in this. What was in the Rangers application submitted March 2011? Was the WTC mentioned? Was the SFA made aware of the May letter?
I have no love of the current SFA but let us not jump to conclusions. Rangers have been seriously shown up by the court proceedings but they are dead so where are the consequences for them?

I suspect Regan will say nothing on this while the court case continues.

Bgbhoy,

It does take me longer to wake up in the mornings…no doubt. On the balance of probability, some at the SFA knew about the real nature of the WTC. Ogilvie’s invollvement with both Rangers and the Association would suggest that. However, without actual evidence that the SFA were informed, Regan can argued that he was duped. That is what I am saying, nothing more.

I doubt that Mr Regan will resign. If he is to exit, it will probably have to be by other means. Those means will require solid evidence or a payout, or both.

All in my opinion, of course. Perhaps, you have additional evidence that the Association did know?

You are absolutely correct. The fact seems to be clear there was a debt in 2011. However, the onus, and the only one, is on the club to inform the football authorities. There is no obligation for the authorities to verify if statements on accounts or debts are the truth. This may be a farce of a rule – as are so many others in football and not just at Scottish or national level – but it is the one all clubs have agreed to and abide by. It is the old adage of “no smoke without fire” but you still have to find the fire before you can prove that is where the smoke comes from. There is simply nothing on the SFA or SPFL in anything that has come out in the trial so far other than suspicions. Any testimonies have simply increased our so far unfounded beliefs and our paranoia, for that is what it is without proof.

We all wish someone or something would come out with conclusive evidence of malpractice, collusion or fraud but, as yet, that has not happened and may never do so in this particular trial. We have to remember this trial is about the possible illegal manner in which Craig Whyte bought over Rangers. It has nothing to do with the big or wee tax cases other than they relate to the potential debt at the time of purchase or any agreements for Whyte to honour them. Of course, like any good lawyer, Findlay will throw in any red herrings he can collect to muddy the waters and hope the real story of the takeover is lost in them. For him, it is about showing Whyte did nothing illegal and ignorance of debts or misinformation from Murray Group, including tax, could be a major factor. But, in this trial, that is all the meaning they have. So, for all the suspicious “bits and pieces” that might fall from the big table, they are mere crumbs of hope though, with a very fair wind and a huge chunk of luck, could be potential indictments at some other trial or inquest sometime in the future. But, for the moment they are only fragments that, in themselves, as yet do not make safe and sound ammunition. Hope should always be based on reality. It’s a bummer sometimes but c’est la vie!!!! Till the next one, that is.

There are some very surprising views expressed on here about the scumbag Regan and, as far as I’m concerened, that is EXACTLY what he is.
Remember, when asked what he would do if given absolute proof about the dead huns’ cheating he said “NOTHING”. This alluded to cheating to get the CL License (which he almost certainly knew about) and cheating via EBTs and the previous DOS (Discounted Options Scheme). He was effectively saying “NO” to title stripping. Him, Ogilvie, Dickson, Broadfoot, Doncaster et al should be in court for fraud. It’s that simple. Traynor, and the ‘journalists’ involved should be sacked and prosecuted too for lying in a public position of trust.

Regan is taking an extortionate salary under false pretences. That alone is fraud. He should be thrown out of his position on the 6th floor at Hampden (and should he survive that 🙂 ) he should be prosecuted along with everyone involved in this stinking conspiracy, regardless of their personal allegiances and/or affiliations.
Scumbgs the lot of them.

Correct Mike, the cheating is being well established in this trial.
From his own mouth he admits financial doping to aid his club to win trophies.
Every club in Scotland who played against the former Rangers were cheated.
Sporting integrity was washed away like a losing Joey Barton betting slip.
We must demand a new enquiry, and to strip them off titles and cups won during that time.

Pensionerbhoy

Reply to  mike

mike,

That is one exception to what I said in my “binned” post. That is an admission that nullifies LNS. This more than justifies a new investigation, an independent one this time, out of the reach of football authorities, non-restricted and open. There would simply have to be different conclusions and recommendations. However, any new commisiion would only deal with tainted honours. The more essential and necessary investigation into corporate and leadership corruption is, as yet, still on the back burner. I also think it would be imprudent, if not impossible, to convene any kind of investigation into cheating and its consequences until after the present Whyte trial. There is too much interlinked for there not to be potential contempt of court both ways. I think we have a long wait ahead but Celtic and other clubs have been handed the smoking gun by Murray today. I only hope they grow the balls to use it as soon as they can. The carpets in Hampden must be several feet off the ground with the stuff the clubs have allowed to be swept under them.

The news of HMRC and police involved at Newcastle and West Ham is noteworthy. Although it would seem they are targeting individuals and not the clubs, it will be interesting more than anything to watch how the media deal with it. There could be some very telling comparisons with our wonderful SMSM.

Tic,

I do not get offended on blogs. I can be wrong and somebody points that out with proof, then I feel I have been educated. If I get abuse, I just ignore the abuser or the blog. So there is no problem. I read your posts and respect your views.

Perhaps I am thick but I do not see the proof in the James Forest article. Today we saw evidence against the oldco and individuals involved with it. No evidence against Regan, if he simply did not know about the WTC.
He has under estimated the Res 12 issue, Yes, I agree.
His reply on doing nothing could be extended to suggest what could he do? The guilty party is dead! What can be done now? I do not see any of this as proof that he knew that Rangers were trying to deceive.

In my opinion, I think Rangers did conceal info, and, it is possible that Regan knew and chose to ignore it, but I do not see the proof of that.

Reply to  rebus67

So, Rebus, your reply eventually turned up; good.
I think we can discuss this forever but ultimately it would be down to ‘beyond reasonable doubt’ and on ‘the balance of probabilities’. Include Ogilvie and you’ve got someone in both “Rangers” and the “SFA” camps, a director of one and president of the other. Is it ‘reasonable’ or ‘probable’ to assume someone who was instrumental in EBTs didn’t discuss the outstanding ‘wee tax case’ (from the already illegal DOS) with his superior at the SFA? No, I don’t think so either.
It is both ‘probable’ and ‘reasonable’ to assume, as there had been talk even in 2010 (and probably before) of “Rangers” going bust, that a scenario was drawn up to ensure “Rangers” survived AT ALL COSTS. The ‘architects then made everything fit together to ensure that result. They hadn’t bargained for City of London police uncovering evidence, amongst many other things. Anyway, I can’t entirely devote my time to this and have no intention (nor inclination) of doing so. The Truth is out there and someone far brighter than me will hopefully uncover all of it.
Cheers.

http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/news/14530543.Regan__SFA_was_right_to_let_Rangers_into_Europe_and_Celtic_fans_can_take_it_up_with_UEFA/

It’s not my intention to provide all kinds of links or anything else; I’ve a lot more to do than just that.
Anything I find is diligently sought out and used when/if appropriate. Anyone with internet access can do likewise.

The SFA should have been given the 20th May letter under FFP rules.
That letter would have demonstrated that not only did a liability exist but the true nature of the ebts that caused the liability.
A quick enquiry to HMRC as SFA were empowered to do would have established exactly when RFC admitted to HMRC that they owed them money and that was before 31st March.
The SFA have been ambivalent on whether and when they had that letter but without clarification being sought all culpability lies with RFC.That is for sure, what is not sure is the degree of SFA complicity or sheer negligence.

Auldheid,

You summarised my position much better than I!

The SFA are either guilty of not applying due diligence, or of complicity in circumventing the rules. Take your pick!

Just back from Malaga. Was that you making all the noise?

Thanks for the heads up to PB and Henke.
Great to watch the young Bhoys, (maybe even easier than last Sunday) against young Zombies. A stroll in the park (2nd half anyway as it’s all I saw.)

Just before my Horlicks, if you have not signed Ralph’s petition (see Diary), then you really must. Believe me, Change.org has had no small number of successes over the years.

Just do it. It takes longer to log on to your computer than to sign it.

Signed the petition earlier today. Thought I’d signed it weeks ago but it didn’t say I had as I signed.
Moaning’s a total and utter waste of time without taking SOME sort of action; I urge anyone who hasn’t signed it to do so. Otherwise they’ll think no-one gives a fuck and carry on doing what they’ve always done.
COYBIG, sign up!!

I dont think so. Only in feb this year did Gilligan get his when his assets were taken, thank fuck.

terrorist organisations are all about the money point. Her murder still goes unsolved since the 90s and montit is on here proclaiming the so called RA.

fuck the petition.

Fred, was that (the murder of Veronica) from the motorcyclist(s)?
It was almost certainly the British Security Services in concert with UDA/UVF.
There could be a clue there as to why it’s unsolved.
That has precious little to do with the petition which is about trying to out the scumbags at the SFA and then go wider afield, hopefully.

Anyway, what you do is your call, but it’s not productive and it should stop, IMHO.

Fred, you clearly have an axe to grind, and may even have good reason; but it’s got fuck all to do with either me or this site. Don’t believe, because you’ve seen a movie, that it’s all ‘gospel’ truth. If any junk-dealing scum were indeed involved in VG’s murder, I’d bet a pound to a penny they’ve already been ‘taken care of’, but I don’t believe this at all. The IRA has history for knee-capping drug dealers; and you think they’re behind VG’s death. IT DOES NOT FUCKING ADD UP. Comprendez?
Either way, I want no more shit from you, ever. Get along on here or fuck off.
I couldn’t care less, either way.

Weered, that’s pretty much how I feel generally.
I’ve got a short fuse (unfortunately), but I’m very quick to forgive and don’t mind holding my hands up when I’m wrong. I cannot fucking abide those who refuse to admit their own wrongs but delight in telling others of all their ‘failings’. Hun mentality, IMO.
Cheers, Pal.

At HaHaHampden tonight the Zombie youth team (losing by 2 goals at H/T subbed their £100 million “wonder-kid” Billy Gilmour) FFS, I ask you, do you still by tabloids??
Also noticed the ‘evergreen’ Kenny Miller turned up, with his boots, but didn’t get picked. Such is their awesome talent.
Be afraid Timmies! Oh, Hahahahahahahahahahaha.

Fred,Veronica was killed in a gangland hit due to her work in the fight to rule the drugs business mostly around Dublin.Monti talks of the PIRA,who had no part in this feud. Some figures involved used “dissident “republican guises to try to muscle in but have come undone, mostly by republicans not happy with the supposed association.A very brave woman, she knew how risky her work was. Many have died in Ireland doing what they believed in.

Well done to the Development team tonight, another kick in the hee haws to le merde. and well done mutton chops, keep on ferreting into the burrows of the huns, expose the truth, bite into there necks and draw blood, it is the least that they deserve. A special mention to James Doleman, for providing us with the details of the Whyte trial, the best fun I have had since Ken Dodd hid his cash takings in the attic, cash in the attic took on a whole new meaning for Ken.
