Regan: Liar, Patsy, or Both ?

The chief of the SFA Stewart Regan – never trust a man with a surname for a first name, the correct first name is Stuart- has been thrown back into the internet limelight again, with blogger John James going as far as to threaten crowdfunded legal action in a reply to one of his recent articles..

There is a significant difference between now and 2011. There are individuals watching Regan like a hawk, including readers of this site. One false move and i will be all over him like a rash. The SFA as licensor has an ONGOiNG responsibility to ensure that any member club proposed is compliant with UEFA FFP. He cannot just pass it over the wall on the 31st March and wash his hands of it. If he has pulled this stroke again I will pursue him relentlessly, including crowdfunded court action if necessary, to bring this sly bastard to his knees.

This will take you to the site. Have a wee look. John James Article

Every now and again, JJ goes off at a tangent, but when he focuses he’s often on to something.

As you’re probably aware, a few people point a few things out to us, and with the issue of UEFA licensing under the spotlight at the moment, largely due to suspicions that we may see a repeat of the SFA shennannigans that shoehorned an ineligible Rangers into the champions League, its only right that we chuck in our tuppence worth from time to time.

Where Regan and his incompetence/collusion is concerned, there’s value for that tuppence.

You’ll note that the reader is free to decide for himself whether Regan is incompetent or corrupt . Or both, or maybe he is the right man for the job.

Image result for stop it i'm going to pee

While you decide, consider this answer he gave Richard Gordon on Sportsound in 2013… which kind of suggests he wanted to wash his hands of a similar situation back in 2011…

Sportsound 2013

And take into account this reply to a tweet, undated, but still relevant..

As we know, Rangers were found liable for those payments, and therefore had an outstanding tax bill. Actually in the end, outstanding is an understatement if used to describe their tax bill. It’s positively stupendous.

In the tweets above, Regan is saying that the bill is being disputed by Rangers .

And that a licence can be granted irrespective of any tax bill.

Image result for thats bollocks

He then tries to clarify it, in 2012…

download (17)

Oops…

In September 2011, the BBC reported, in a Q and A on Ranger’s tax problems…

This one emerged in the club’s accounts this April and is related to a different tax avoidance ruse operated between 1999 and 2003.

Called a Discounted Options Scheme, it is a more complicated version of the EBT as it funnels what experts call the “disguised remuneration” through a “money-box company” set up in a tax haven. The beneficiary then gets shares in the company and you can guess the rest.

It was, for a while, a popular way for bankers to avoid paying tax on their bonuses but HMRC closed the loophole and has been chasing up lost tax ever since.

The sum Rangers owe – and they have agreed this much – is £2.8m in back taxes and interest. What they continue to dispute is the £1.4m HMRC is demanding in penalties. The undisputed amount is due now, in fact, it’s overdue again, if that makes sense.

Oddly enough, the BBC were banned by Rangers just a month later.

When he took the club over, Craig Whyte admitted the liability in his takeover speech, again from the BBC, we note when the bill was made public.. in May 2011

At the outset of talks, ( November 2010 ) it appeared that the former chairman would recoup around £4.5m from the takeover.

However, when a £2.8m tax bill was made public in Rangers’ half-yearly accounts, the deal was renegotiated and he agreed that it would come from his share.

Murray waived the remainder of the sum due, with Whyte agreeing to invest that sum into the club.

The SFA are obliged to inform UEFA of any changes in circumstances that may affect any applications for licences.

Or of any concerns over any possible changes.

Thats what Regan meant when he said it was up to UEFA after March 31.

Consider also Paul Murrays words on the wee tax bill, also from the BBC,  in October 2011

Mr Murray said he doubted Mr Whyte’s logic in taking on an unspecified tax bill.

He added: “From my experience of buying and selling companies over a 25-year period, I’ve never ever seen anyone take on a liability of that nature before.”

He’s got a point. what sort of idiot takes on a bill that is not specified-or to use the correct term-crystallised ?

Logically, the bill must have been crystallised. It doesn’t make sense for Whyte to take it on otherwise.

Yet in the answer to Richard Gordon,  Regan says that after March 31 its down to UEFA to check these things, which if they had, they would have spotted.

Except, of course, they only look at issues raised by the local yokels.

Regan clearly didn’t raise the issue.

Why not ?

Make your own mind up, but at the very least its time to drag him out and ask him.

That should be interesting, as he’s probably forgotten what he said back then, which is what happens when you don’t tell the truth.

Some might argue that Celtic should take up the case, but at this stage, its worth it for them to wait until all the facts are in the public domain, after the supreme court makes its ruling.

There’s still much more to come out, and as we’ve waited this long, a little while longer won’t hurt.

After all, its about the SFA and its lack of competence, its lack of transparency, and the accusations of corruption.

That sort of thing doesn’t have a time bar.

What we must also be concerned about is whether or not he is at it again.

I would like nothing better than to think our game is being governed properly, fairly and in the interests of all clubs and supporters.

Neil Doncaster of the SPFL refused to deny collusion or corruption when asked, via email.

Will Regan deny it ?

Are we going to ask him to ?

Monti the guy is a yo-yo, he chops and changes his mind and deletes as good as Regan ever did.

He started off with the gap being closed mince and PretendyGers had overtaken Celtic and would win this year… Promptly binned and the dyke jumped.

Jackson was the go to Reporter in Scotland, until people pished all over that idea… Again he binned it and he now slags Jackson. He claims all sorts of bravery then deleted his blog when Fuckin’ MERLIN gave him stick. He is a Chug.

Add posting anti SNP pish already debunked and promptly removed, quoting Andrew Neil and claiming wee tank comander Ruth Davidson as being the ONLY decent politician in Scotland… you get the picture a Really BIG Chug.

He has claimed all sorts of exclusives which are just rehashes of others blogs. He is also a Walter Mitty type.

He claims to have spent his younger days on the New York Night Club scene, then later claimed he he worked all the hours God sent his way in Security during these younger years, seeing off hard men even when a knife was held to his throat.

In his latest version of his youth he was a box to box midfielder signed on an S Form.

I find him almost as funny as The Clumpany on the Buckie and Bleach, although he is being serious. I have not laughed at a Hun so much since old pishy lost his pen… He is a Prize Plum.

Excellent stuff, Ralph!

Readers might find the very last few pages (+/-134 to 138?) of annexed documents in The Offshore Games’ report on the subject of SFA & *Rangers illuminating:-

http://www.theoffshoregame.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/Doing-SFA-Annexes.pdf

– The email communication between Regan & *Rangers circa 7 Dec 2011 on the subject of overdue payables & the UEFA licence, speaks volumes IMHO.

When an SFA press release is sent firstly by Regan to Ibrokes for their approval, and he ends up not only being overruled, but effectively told what to say (or not to say), and is then subsequently rewarded with a cosy meal in a private suite (+ rooms) at the Hotel Du Vin 1 week later, there can be little doubt there is institutionalieed collusion on a massive scale!

Whether you deem Regan himself a liar, a patsy or both, may depend on how much he was actually led/advised in this matter by another untrustworthly double-surnamed chap with a foot in both Hampden & Ibrokes camps. – A man who turned “fatally compromised” at the SFA into a cosy wee job as an UEFA Champions League delegate – the former *Rangers director who not only knew about, but had a hand in the EBT till – the SFA presidentt at the time –

The 2 and only Campbell Ogilvie.

You could say the same about almost every single employee of that so-called organisation of sleekit rogues. Ogilvie, Bryson, et al. Don’t fret though my man as Judgement Day is coming real soon. If the final tax verdict is delivered on the side we think it’s going to be and appropriate action re title stripping and putting and to the survival myth is not put in place then it certainly is ‘End Of Days’ for Scottish football.

I will give Celtic FC, in particular, and the other relevant Scottish Clubs in general, the benefit of the doubt regarding the awaited decision of the Supreme Court.
There is logic in suggesting that the verdict should be in before any action is taken…and I agree with that.
If, however, the ruling goes the way we hope it does…but no further action is taken by the aforementioned..then the game is fucked…and I will never attend a senior game in Scotland again.
My huge frustration is that so many facts have been published about “corruption” and “collusion” between the SFA/SPFL parasites and Sevco…and fuck all has been done.
Now it may well be that all of it relates to the Tax Case and we have to wait…but I have to ask…
Where is wee Fergus when you need him ?
Come back wee man…your Club needs you.
As for John James…
Despite his excellent way with words and some of his mind blowing “exclusives”…his begging bowl attitude pisses me off. I don’t contribute to his site either financially or by submitting posts. But I do read his stuff.

Liar liar, pant’s on fire.

Oh yes we will ask Regan again, but will the slimey toad try to wriggle his way out of it? Yes he will, because after all his past record points this way.
Which was the point of my post yesterday “we wait for the Supreme court ruling” to be published and then fully armed, go for the jugular, hopefully behind the previous silent Board, then go after the titles.
I am pretty certain that I read an article in the Sunday Times explaining why the Mankies would be granted a license to compete in the Europa League, pre propaganda perhaps.

The problem is the establishment is complicit in all things corrupt. They line their own pockets and rip off the public. The only reason RFC survived for so long was the collusion of the establishment, as even before the EBT s they were struggling. The SFA, bankers, lawyers are all part of the corruption.
Celtic Foorball Club should push for a UEFA league compromising teams from the leagues that are considered unglamorous, Portugal, Holland, Belgium, the Scandinavians. That way we would finally be free from the ongoing corruption.
We should as a group of supporters back anyone taking legal action after the Supreme Court judgement.
Any ways looking fwd to the game tomorrow.

From the Club’s official website…

CELTIC Football Club are delighted to announce that manager Brendan Rodgers has signed a new four-year contract with the club which will run until June 2021.
Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell said: “Brendan has made a huge impact at Celtic already. He’s an outstanding manager and we believe he is one of the best coaches in Europe, if not world football, and we’re delighted that he has committed his future to Celtic.”
Brendan Rodgers has already led the team to the Premiership title and League Cup success this season, remaining unbeaten after 38 domestic games, with a Scottish Cup semi-final to come later this month, while also guiding the team into the group stages of the UEFA Champions League.

Ralph,

Good research! Unfortunately, for Sevco and the SFA, the conclusion comes before the argument is formed! They have a particular objective in mind and the arguments/justifications or applogies will be found later, or even not at all.

There is lots of evidence of this, e.g. What was and was not included in the LNS inquiry; which information was supplied to the SFA, and which passed on to UEFA during the licence process. The edited response from UEFA that found its way into the MSM is another example. It goes on and on.

What to do about it? Well, we must keep plugging away as you do, but the two powerful forces are the other SPL clubs and UEFA. Unless Sevco and the SFA receive censure from these sources little will change.
What is needed is a mechanism for engaging these entities. Res 12 was one such opportunity, but it did not receive the support that it merited. Will the Sevco licence app be the next opportunity to galvanise a united front?

Sweden has been taking in immigrants for decades. It also has a significant group of folk descended from their former colonies. Many of the immigrants are in the outskirts of the city and there can be violence there. Rather like there was in Temple and Partickupon occasion! Theseareas, not Temple etc, would be fertile recruiting groinds for terrorists. However, nowhere is exempt from this now.

Is that THE Captain Morgan, or as is known The Captain in Newfoundland? I spent 30 years in Newfoundland which is a rum province.
Schooners used to come up from the Caribbean to St John’s and store the rum there. Later it would be transported over to Europe. The barrels that contained the rum would washed out with seawater to extract the last of the rum out the wood. This mixture was known as Screetch and was free or cheap. It was so called because that is what it made people do after a glass.

There is a brand of rum today called Screetch but it is not the lethal mix that it was!

Enjoy your rum,

Not long out of my scratcher (nightshift mode) and greeted with the wonderful news of Brendan’s shiny new contrsct. Fantastic news. We are soaring upwards in a way unseen since St Martin’s first few seasons. The old Paul McStay phrase of there being a ‘buzz about the place’ is more pertinent than ever. This could be one of our best ever seasons domestically and we are only just beginning! One thing is for sure, the speculation over BR will not end and the headline tomorrow will probably be linking him with a move to fecking Hull or Sunderland and the like.

In response to Ralph’s headline question I am of the opinion that Regan is a patsy but he has sunk so low into the quagmire with the rest of the snakes that he is a right nice mess with his buddy Dongcaster. When (and not if) the final verdict of the tax case is cast then let the witch hunt begin. We will finally get justice of sorts (title stripping, etc.) for the last five years of survival myth pish and the like. I have no doubt about this as the alternative is the absolute death of football in this country and Armageddon will happen, just not in the way Regan predicted.

Durham the bam should be sidestepped like a piece of dog shit in the middle of the pavement. He will peddle the most ridiculous statements as ‘informed opinion’ in order to provoke a response. When he achieves said response he has done his job in rousing the rabble. Like all other media stirrers it’s best to ignore their childish “look at me” antics of the playground fools that they are. Anyway, Chris Sutton will sort him out if they ever cross paths. That’s one gig I would pay over the odds to witness.
